I just downloaded the newest version for windows, but I have no clue what to do w/ it?? Am I supposed to have a headset or something??

You can use either a headset or a microphone. The importance is that you have a sound input device (i.e. A sound card) which is normally built-in on most computer systems, at least on Mac's.

As for the headsets there are two variants. One that is connected via and powered by USB and one that is plugged in via a common mini-tele plug. If you're using the latter, and are a Mac user, make sure that the headset is compliant with Mac's. Often - not to say always - you're unable to use a mini-tele connected headset on a Macintosh if the headset isn't powered somehow (with batteries for instance).

As of Skype, it is a free voice enabled IM (Internet Messenger) client application, meant for audible communication between other Skype users. But you can also use it for rudimentary text messaging/chat as well.

Yep. Kewl or what?You just need a mike/headset, but I use headphones, because my speakers are to darn close to the noisy fans!

So how do I get that I have an Xbox Live head set dat will work just doi need to dload something and were do I poaug up my headset plz

2. Add someone with a Skype user name to your list
3. Press the green call button
4. Talk and listen to your conversation!

It makes you start an account when installed.
