Well, I originally wrote this for a friend, but I thought it would be useful for the whole ThinkTanks community, so here is how I run TGE demo for TT. This may not be the same as other people's tutorials. This is because everyone can do something different, there are many ways of doing this. In my opinion, this is the best way in the long run.

1.) Download Napalm's expansion pack.

2.) Follow the instructions that napalm add's for installation.

3.) After making sure that these are properly installed, do the following.

---------The Proper way to install TGE for TT---------------

Well, I find that there are way to many ways to install TGE that end up with errors. If you do mine correctly, everything will be great!

---------------Download TGE demo from GarageGames------

Yes, I suggest you get rid of the current TGE demo and re-download one fresh. This might be a hassle now, but it will be good in the end.

------------Making a Data Folder------------------------

Okay, it is imperative that you do this correctly. Right click (or if you on mac, Control+click) on a blank spot on your TGE folder. Find Create Folder and then click it. Name the folder 'game'. Then open the data folder and make another folder the same way as above, and call it 'data'. Then open that and make another folder, and call this one 'skies'. Then make another folder in the data folder and call it 'missions'. Then another in the data folder and call it 'terrains'. Then yet another in the data folder and call it 'shapes'.

After you triple check that all the folder's names are exactly the same as above, do the following:

1.) Copy the contents of your skies folder in your ThinkTanks.app and paste the contents into you skies folder that you just made in TGE. Then copy the contents of your terrains folder from ThinkTanks (the same one that you installed napalm's expansion pack) into the terrain folder you made for TGE. Then copy your shapes folder that you got from napalm's expansion pack into the shapes folder you made with TGE.

DO NOT continue if you think anything else is wrong. If something is wrong, and you move on, this may result in major confusion. So just check it over as best as possible.

--------------Starting your MOD terrain with TGE-------------

If you've done everything correctly, then all you should have to do now is the following to open TGE:

1.) Open terminal. If you don't know what terminal is, it is what is described for dedicated servers. If you are on mac, simply click control+F and it will have a window pop up were you can search through your hard-drive for anything you'd like. Type in: Terminal.

2.) Right click(for windows) or control+click (for mac) on the TGE demo.app and select show package contents. Then go into Recources/Mac OS (for mac) or Resources/???? For windows. If you found the correct folder, it should have an icon for terminal. Drage that icon into the terminal window. The press 'space'. Then type the following exactly as I say:

-console -mod game

The press enter. TGE demo should start up. Then you can MOD the way you would normally. When you open terrain texture painter, I suggest that you don't use any terrains that have the filepath: demo/ etc. Etc.

All in all, this may seem like the longer way to install, but in the whole scheme of things, it's worth it!

Hope this Helps!

Cannedsplam when you say:

Then open the data folder and make another folder the same way as above, and call it 'data'

Do you mean, open demo/data then make a data folder or do you mean open your new game folder and make a one in it named 'data'?

Also this terminal stuff...

I dont understanmd where to find this terminal thing your saying...

Every computer has terminal... I'm guessing you're on Windows? Someone else would have top point that to you. No, none of my instructions involve changing the actual TGE folders.

Not changing the actual folders, but openeing the TGE data one and making a data inside that or making a brand new data folder I dont understamd which.....

And for the terminal thing,

If you found the correct folder, it should have an icon for terminal. Drage that icon into the terminal window. The press 'space'. Then type the following exactly as I say:

-console -mod game

Which folder has an icon for terminal?
