Well I am a bit shit scared its in GREECE!!!
this is the strain from the previous flu bug that caused major epidemic and we Britain havent got enough flu jabs atm
anyway when this does spread to britian then I'm a bit crapped expect some of my reletives to die

And my immune system has took heavy batterings in prev years a tonselitous that lasted the best part of half a year ACK!
so if my account does go dead (I know saying this way too early) and if other europeans do too then we must have cocked it

^ Is this Cockney or what?

Anyway, sorry to tell ya, but folks here round don't really go for this sort of story. Tired it a few weeks back and just made a fizzle of interest. Seems no one wants to be thinkin' about the end, ya know?

The good news is my wife saw an interview on the telly a night or so ago and seems this virus has been around since 1998. Sure, its spreadin' and mutatin', but not the hot flash the media would have us all moanin' over. Still, if ya can get yer shots and a N95 rated mask, you'll be on yer way to ruling the world.

Our days on earth are to its end...

Believe it or not, I would like to say

Where is your faith???

We are the walking dead. No need

To fear death from flu, terrorist, or

The four horseman. To me if you

Live life to evolve than you will be

Safe...

This is old news. We know 360 million people could die, we know the whole world'll be exposed to it, but we ALSO know that the flu virus will evolve to a less lethal form before it acquires the ability to spread among humans. So for now, we're safe.

And it's kinda funny.... Right now I am staying home from school because I have the flu....
but not to worry... I only own 5 birds.... :P
besides, that flu epidemic hasnt been exposed in Texas has it?

"this is the strain from the previous flu bug that caused major epidemic and we Britain havent got enough flu jabs atm"

Guess the epidemic in question is the influenza epidemic.Happened in WW1,killed just about 25 million inocent people around the world.

My dad was almost killed by it 5 years ago.

Bow chicka bow wow! Prepare for the emergance of THE ARK!!!!

I'm always curious when someone uses the phase "innocent people" to describe a large group hit by calamity. What are they innocent of and what difference does it make? How can we judge them as being innocent or guilty?

Does anyone ever say, "30 million guilty people were killed today". If you think about it, that's probably more accurate.

But back to the flu...its really not a problem until its airborne and transfers between people. Then we're doomed, DOOMED!!!

Guess I'll just commit suicide now and avoid the chance of getting sick and dying. %)

@Rabban: "People" as a multitude are always innocent, especially when they are dying. Only a single person can be guilty. XD

Get the book natural cures they don't want you to know about by kevin tredeu.tells how government lets big companies put chemicals in food that could kill you.this is a scary time, but its not the end just yet we have to change to make this world a better place.this is a world we live in.these are the hands we were given.time to use our hands and mind to make this world a better place to live.

I think we can all relax a bit.

Avian is just testing the waters. Most experts agree this isn't going to be the year, but it is getting closer. I don't recall Avian getting this close to Europe before. Hopefully our great leaders will respond to our uneasiness due to media scare tactics and actually make plans to meet this challenge. Once it does make the transfer to airborne virus, we're gonna be in a heap of trouble if we're not ready. Otherwise millions of "innocent" victims will die (and I'll be taking over).

Southern asia... I should really be more careful.

The other day I was in a dong minority village handling chooks ( baby chickens to those what do not know) and I have been eating pidgeon (and even tried chicken feotuses which were done on a kebab).

Can anyone explain how its transmitted... Cause all the news is in chinese and the dumbass commies are blocking lots of english speaking news sites

Hmm...

And @Pablo, yeah, you really should be a bit more careful. You can depend on PTT for 24/7 news coverage, though.

@Aragon of Men

Despite what you might have heard here you should be worried and frankly I'm glad to see governments listening to science on this one. The bird flu is far more dangerous than most people think. The influenza we know when it first afflicted men was extremely deadly. The reason we only have a few hundred deaths from the flu each year is because we know this is simply a new mutation of the same flu. The problem with the bird flu is that we won't have enough knowledge of it to fight it with medicine. Once it mutates to a human strain, after a few years of studying and fighting it then yes we will have it pretty much under control... As much as we have the current flu's under control. The problem is that in that time when we are studying and learning to fight it millions could die. This one is as bad as they say it is. When this virus jumps to humans we will be in big trouble.

Yeah I saw on the news that once it gets into the mammals we won't be able to stop it.so I will pray to all the gods and they may help us.i will also pray to science too
