How may have you had to do? I'm now trying to recover from my fourth, I think. The first three were a couple years ago (same comp), when I was an ignorant Kaaza junkie. Viruses and spyware wreaked havoc on my 'lil HP clunker. This last one was a result of either a child's download, or my wife removing Windows update programs. Atleast it wasn't my fault, this time. After trying a non-destructive resore, I couldn't get windows to boot. I may have been a little hasty doin the total wipe-out, but patience isn't one of my virtues.
Needless to say, I've lost everything. Pics, music, all my TT stuff - including all my skin source files. Total bummer. Oh, well. Maybe it was time for a clean-out.
After some downloadin' , I look foward to shooting some of you.
P.S. All you Mac users- save it.

I have only done a complete restore twice on my windows drive twice, both because of a flaky hard drive which I recently replaced. On my ubuntu drive I have only done it once, when I upgraded from 5.10 to 6.06 (apt-get dist-upgrade sucks). Since I installed 6.06 a while ago I have not had to reinstall since!

I bought a cheap USB hard drive enclosure at compusa and threw a spare 30gb hard drive in it. I keep all my backups of TT on it along with all my other backups. Since the linux version of TT uses a static binary I can just copy and paste my TT folder and my.bravetree folder and start playing.

^^^ Thanks, GQ. I can still get most of them off of my skin thread, I'm just kinda bummed I lost the source files so can access layers and stuff.
I made back-ups of everything in case I had to ever re-install TT, but I never burned them onto disk. Duh.
I really need to get a new comp, this one is practically held together with duct tape. Maybe after tax-time...

Poised, ready to giggle at one-liners.......and now this. I'm of no help except that I use lots of duct tape (don't ask), so I could offer various installation tips there. Oh yeah, and I could send my back-ups of the "Mrs. 44 Nude" files....as if you haven't seen those. I'm here to help.

I'm actually doing complete system re-install as we speak, which would suck except I got extremely lucky and managed to snitch the Windoze VISTA beta 2 before they closed it!
