Whee!!

Hello peoplez! I've been working on a sorta filler Admin system for TT and I've gotten to the point where I need someone to host it so I can distribute it. The admin system allows you to do a few things:

Make CenterPrint!

Make BottomPrint!

Kick people from your servers!

And silence those spammers!

All of this is done from the saftey of your chatbox too! The admin system has a login setup so that as long as you know the admin password you can login to any server. This makes it so that there can be multiple admins for one server thats constantly up.

Please, someone get me a file hoster for this zip! Lol

PS any suggestions post in this thread please

Have you found some people allready to give the pass to, because once it gets working you could email the zip to me and pass. (I'm sure there are many others you had in mined ;) )

This is for intallation on your server. (sorry if I didnt make that clear). I posted this thread to ask for a file host which I need. Anyone?

Monday, July 19, 2004 at 10:18:53 PM

I think I could do it

Monday, July 19, 2004 at 11:13:11 PM

Ishbuu IBotI, You da man. I wish I had my old bandwidth, or I'd gladly host this. Have you talked to MonkeyMan, KillingBrainCells, or ReagentX? Back when I had bandwidth, I had developed the first three features, but I'm impressed that you got a global /ignore feature running. Nice work! You should post this in the Mods section to grab the attention of those who host.

Ishbuu, remember who helped you with this XO

Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at 1:22:35 AM

Ishbuu you should talk with Dash. He has already done this on his servers. You can kick, silence, have team chat and private chat with a single tank. He also has it set up so you can see the stats for each tank. Talk with him if you get the chance.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Oh Please Send it 2 me! (I can't promise anything), but my dad said that if I get a 3.2 or higher on my Report card, I could use a web hosting service 2 host servers and all that stuff!!!

And should I achieve this goal, I'll be happy to host that zip file ;)

But as things are, chances r dramaticly high!! (u see, last school year, I took 2 1 year advanced classes! And this year, I'll be left with all the easy classes!! (I'll even have Spanish, which should be a no brainer since I was born in Mexico :P ))

Just think about it ;) <----------Cadc (SA) (Leader)

Hey Cadc, what does a 3.2 GPA translate into in letter grades? We don't have GPA's at my school, we have letter grades on our report cards.
@Ishbuu
AngelFire. A.Mac membership.
That's all I got for free, if you want more than 20 megs (both have that) then you should try FatCow. It has 500 megs of storage and only costs $120 or so annually.

GOOD JOB ISH!

I'm glad you finally finished it, it'll realy help out! I would host, but I think I am laggy. I have cable and everything--yet still laggy. *goes and cries.* Is your email the same as the one listed in your profile? I would like to get in touch with you!

Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at 3:24:05 PM

Just tell me how much space you need and I'll get some stuff together for you...

(I have 5 websites, I'm sure I can make space in all to have 5 mirrors for it until -z- decides to host it here)

Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at 4:35:30 PM

He he he the whole thing is about 4 killobytes so err I guess it isnt that much of a pain to host. Instructions are included in the zip in the README which you HAVE to read. Special Thanks to Nathan for making the WONDERFULL (lol) readme. More thanks to him for helping me with concepts in the early stages (err iow first few hours) of development. He he he ok ill get back to working on this now.

This isn't finished yet, it's kinda clunky, but it works (slightly).

Ishbuu and I are researching some things, it should be finished in the near future.

W00t ish! I got PLENTY of server space at my domain, send it to me, I'll be glad to host. Mail to Tank_racer445@yahoo.com

Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 1:49:37 PM

He's already sent it to IP!

Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 1:50:38 PM

I'm putting it on a little delay for now. Should take a few days. I have a few things to work on right now that involve making it the best it can be for the community. I'll get back to you all when ive made significant progress.

Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 2:13:56 PM

You mean, you and Nathan have had to work on a few things, and you get back to us after both of you have made progress?

Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 2:16:09 PM

He hasn't sent it to me yet. I just checked my e-mail this mourning and nothing so far. I think racer's site is a little more relyable them mine.

Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 2:20:08 PM

And did you get my email? Lol! If everyone else is posting the same thing twice, I might as well too! (_:

Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 2:43:13 PM

Ooooook peoplez! Admin is almost ready for initial release. With a little push in the right direction from dash ive gotten about 3 bugs fixed. I'm gonna go over a few things with some "people" before I finish this off. I'm still checking over that this is completely secure, and as far as I can tell it is. But we dont want anyone to be running into any bugs now do we? :P

I owe! I owe! It's off to work I go!

With a little push in the right direction from dash

I'm just curious. What did he do to help you? Be honest! :)

Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 8:15:48 PM

@spunky
all I gave ish was this

// return player object if found else return count
// 0: no match found
// 2: 2 matches found, not unique
function match_player_name(%name)
{
%name = strlwr(firstWord(%name));
$len = clientgroup.getCount();
%found = 0;
for($I=0; $I<$len; $I++)
{
%player = clientgroup.getObject($I);
%candidate = strlwr(%player.nameBase);

If (strpos(%candidate,%name) >= 0 )
{
%found += 1;
%to = %player;
}

}

If (%found == 1)
return %to;

Return %found;

}

BTW: strlwr() doesn't work on the mac. :S

Any work arounds lagman, different string method? I'm a 98 lb. Torquescript weakling.

Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 5:40:25 PM

You think YOU suck at torquescript..... :'(

Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 9:28:11 PM

Yes there is. Will put things together and send emails...

Isnt there an implementation for tolower() that could be used instead?

Does torque implement _strlwr() instead?

Both of these should work with mac.

In fact doesnt strlwr() work on a mac?

For c++ it does according to this

Or just write your own lower case conversion:
(convert this to torque and it should work)

char tolower(char chr)
{
if (chr <= 'A' && chr #= 'Z')
chr += 32;
return chr;
}

Im a torque weakling but a c strongy :)

B

Edit: I forgot to explain the code snippet. Basically if the character is a letter in the numeric ascii sequence ('A' = 41, etc) AND if it isnt a lowercase letter THEN add 32 to make it a lowercase. If it was never a letter at all or a lowercase letter then nothing is changed.

@Bolo: There is an implementation in Torque, it some how got broken TT for the Mac. Heh, I wonder if your solution would be faster than what I'm using. Me thinks it will be faster (for me) to use what I got. ;)

@Dash and Nathan: Check your email.
