OK, ive made a terrain using TGE demo and put the terrain in game/data/missions. I made an mis for it called TT1_5.mis (so that it would show up on my create server page). But when I start the mission I get the "your terrain file doessn't match the file on the server" error :(

Please help.......

You need the Map Mod Pack with all the Terrains and Different textures to be installed onto Thinktanks. Game>Data>Shapes/Skies/Objects

I put a new sky skin in my server, and I couldn't get in because I didn't have the correct version of TGE. I took it off because alot of people don't have TGE, and it might take away alot of your visitors. :(

Does this usually happen when trying to use modwiz on a dedicated server? The script was loeded normally.

Also, on a normal server, where modwiz works perfectly, the terrain file is still giving invalid packet.

Is this normal?

Well, to use Modwiz without problems on the TGE terrains the terrain name must follow the TTx_y.ter format!
So if you want lush trees and rocks, it would be like TT1_5.ter
Then it wont give problems
Its because MW checks the ter file for the shapes to use, and when it doesnt find a correct format, it will add a shape named ""(nothing) that doesnt exist

So is it normal still to get the invalid packet error when using TGE terrains on a standard non-dedicated server?

When you made the map in TGE what skins did you use?
If any of the skins start with "demo" in the path then TT will crash with the ^ errors mentioned
Some guidelines to modding maps
1. Never use the demo skins
2 Never name your map the same as another (either the game or another modders)
3. Use Napalms Expansion Pack for new rocks - shapes and skies(the man went to all the trouble to
experiment and remove all the TGE /TT non compatibles)
4. IF possible email the map to your buds and post it for download on PTT.
This way anyone who has your new map and the X-PACK can enter immediately because the files are local
IF not it might take 10 -15 minutes for someone to enter your server because downloading in game is very slow
Hope this helps
Roo
