I have just experienced the ping script !!!!
Only one other player - on - in the world and someone else decided that I cant play them !!!Sheesh.
I cant see the point in having it unless you just want to stop Me , Serial KIller , Pom and god knows how many others outside USA from winning and having fun.

Is ping being confused with Lag ?
Do we outsiders have to play in public servers and suffer the team killers (US based I bet )
We outsiders await your reply.

If your not on Dial up and have a good computer, then you will have no problems like me who is also outside the USA

What server was this on? You should ask the hoster to take this script off. And Jay, I have a decent computer and cable internet, and I live in ths U.S., and I was still kicked from Racer's server a couple months ago by the ping script.

I have pretty good ping average, I don't even lag in ^'s server when he is playing.

PS: hehe, so the bird gots an account eh?

Personally I think there are other things that can be tweaked to provide better playing experience. Ping limitations are crap.
I do however think people who are lagging to the point of teleporting and skipping throughout the game should get the boot.

Nothing more frustrating than trying to kill someone who's not really there. It really pisses me off when your chasing someone and before you know it they are now behind you.

Sound familiar ZOMBIE?

Mr. Peeved avoids any game containing ZOMBIE. Nothing personal but I would use a tripod with a broken leg either. Your wireless is horseshit.

^Is is just me or is Napalms flames a little brighter right now. Don't Bash us laggers.

People just have to have the courtesy when they are lagging out severely to stop and let people know. A little note helps. I often lag with a ping below 100 and sometimes I run just fine with a ping of 400.

@ All:
I got kicked by racer's script too... But I asked him to put me on the ignore list, so his server doesn't kick me :)

High ping doesn't necasarilly cause lag, but it does slow down and/or affect the server. The server tries to adjust itself to make the play more even/smooth for everyone. So the server is only as good as the worst connected player. I think that people that drop a lot of packets (56k or wireless) or people who have good ping but weak computers or there runing to many apps as they play. Have a more adverse affect on the servers than high pingers. Personally I don't think there should be a high ping script but a script that would kick poeple who are dropping too many packets and skippping around. You have to keep in mind that these are people personal servers, you don't have to go into them.

Hiho good neighbours,
Thanks for your input.
I am not sure what map it was But Mr Dotz was there so maybe his ???
I almost always restart my Apple G5 1.8 tower before playing tanks and never open anything else.
I have new 3.5mbps broadband and I still have the same ping ranging from 190 to 350 (thats ok )
Thanks for that info Nuts , Yes Rooster told me about supplying my IP to the owners.
We will see what happens.
Its rare that I stray from TBM on The Lair or Dashes or a shockwave server, but - when there is no one else on line and ya " feel the need "
Its not nice to be kicked out !
Yes I too dont like the players with actual lag but ya can just not shot at them.
Ok aimers miss me

You have me wondering what's going on Kiwi sir. I usually get a decent connection where I feel I can offer a competitive game.

Not tonight. It was a struggle because of the weirdness of movement and slow down of my tank and shots.

After the game I noticed a strange score.

After joining again it was even worse movement and now look at the player list.

And why would these IP's that I captured be involved in sending my computer pings while in game?
64.181.9.146
210.22.115.184
141.149.234.215
Anyone recognize these?
BTW, I should state that this was in the Shockwave Public Server.

Nobody can get your IP address from a Shockwave server. You could try changing your IP address, and if you're still getting pinged by those addresses it probably has nothing to do with TT. There are many network diagnostic tools and at DSLreports.com in the tools area.
