Page : <1> :

@ Cat,

Well this is a brief history of LaurynTM :-

First there was xtreme girl - I chose the name because I am not your straight up and down girl. I can be a wildchild at times, and would rather ride a rollercoaster, or sky dive than go to the movies.

Then there was Miss X-Ecutioner. I think the name says it all. Nothing better than executing tanks out there in the battlefield, yet I still wanted to keep my female identity in tact.

This name didn't last a long time as I realized that I wanted to be known by my real name. This is the name that I was given at birth, and this is the name they will bury with me. I love the name, but I have to say that that my mummy didn't choose the most obvious way of spelling the name.

Zoggles (or as I just end up putting for simplicity sake -Z -) is just a long standing nickname friends have called me for almost 25 years.

So what made you stop? Sorry, sorry, only joking.

Origins of Gnomie lost in the mists of time. People decided I was French so I had to speak a foreign language for weeks.

No history. Wanted a fun name for a fun game, 8~Ball fits the bill.

"Rack 'em up"

I picked my screen name of cadc, because they are my initials of my name

C arlo A. D I Donna C ampos

As u can tell, my name is part Mexican and Italian because I'm Mexican, and my mother married an Italian :)

And Dang! That's a very big and fat cat! Even fatter than mine! And she looks pretty fluffy 2 :P

Cadc (SA) (Leader)

I've been doing freelance work under "Lil' Alien Designs" which was based on a picture I drew in highschool of 3 "Lil' Aliens" and kept drawing the characters as my artwork grew. It got shortened to "Lil Alien D" and used as a screen name a few years ago. "D"

Monday, May 10, 2004 at 11:44:52 AM

Well it is my name of course, and the (r) came from a long story which I do not have time to tell at the moment. :)

Monday, May 10, 2004 at 12:30:37 PM

Well, I'm Italian and my real name rhymes with paisano. I've been using that nickname for years on local sports radio stations.

I also use it online for other gaming sites and support sites as well.

As for my other names on TT (Flatulence, PullMyFinger, WhoCutTheCheese, TheCheeseCutter, WindBreaker, etc.) it's all related to the gassy Italian cousin I consume. Maybe not as bad as Mexican food, but still gassy. Plus, I think low-brow humor is fun sometimes. Especially when some games get very serious and players start to get mean and angry. A little toot toot lightens the mood every time. :)

Yikes Pais, You eat your gassy italian cousins? Damn you Italians are a tough breed eh?

Is it possible you meant Cuisine?

@Cat: !!!! What do you feed your cat? Dachshunds?

Got my name after watching Pierce Brosnan tear up a city with a Russian T-80 in Golden-Eye. Tweaked it a little to avoid copyright legalities. ;)

Was DanMac (Dan with a Mac) but that name was causing too much confusion with Dan MacDonald so I switched to the nickname of a sinister character from a Julian May sci-fi series. The series was the Saga of Pliocene Exile - Marc Remillard was called Abbadon (The angel of the Abyss)

Dan McNeil

I don't know why I picked Paco. It's not my name, and I'm not mexican.

Weird how things like that happen..... :(

@Baba

Very sweet and cool. I'm the same way with my sons. Nothing is more honorable than taking care of your family.

Good pics, BABA.

My ol' Glamring teammate is the youngest, true?

Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 11:16:39 AM

@ aliensexist.. Hahahahah, well that makes more sense, "Aliens Exist". I had always read it as the second version anyway, "Alien Sexist". Why my mind would automatically see it that way, I don't know :)

OM

I think there was previous thread like this at one time. Hmm, no matter. Here is a link explaining the word "om" or "aum" as it's commonly written.

I'm not Buddhist or Hindu or anything. I just like the meaning of the word.

@BABA- lovely shots. Just curious, who are the folks with Dar and KJ in the second picture? Relatives?

@KIM - what does it mean, "high on mountain, bright moon"? Is that an asian proverb?

At first I used : cause I thought it was more stealthy than having a big green lettering above your tank, but the desire to be more than just puncuation led me to find a new name. Than the movie Kelly's Heros was on TV again and Donald Sutherland's charactor as a rogue tank commander fit into the spirit of TT.

I've been Master TMO for not quite 20 years now. Comes from an old Apple ][+ game, The Bilestoad.

Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 3:07:33 PM

"Chief" has been my nickname for years. It all started when I 15 years old and was trying to buy beer....the clerk told me "not today chief" and it kinda stuck.

@Cat

I swore your name was a tip of the hardhat to what you do for a living and the heavy equipment makers-Caterpillar! You said you worked as a heavy equipment operator, so I just assumed that's why you called yourself CAT. Oh well...

@Baba: Nice pics!

Since I am a chemist I chose "Reagent X". I just made it up. Has kind of an unusual and odd ring to it. It is supposed to represent a mystery chemical that has a profound effect on a particular situation.

@ JJ - No the youngest is KJ (now 8)

Dar is the next oldest at 10 years.

@ OM -

They are my two oldest kids

John (18 years)

Kayra (20 years)

They think themselves too busy to play Think Tanks, so they don't play often. But I am working on them....lol. I mean I remember having a lot of free time in college....:)

Hey, BABA. How about an occasional post on progress of dar's soccer league? (Told him I was working on his scholarship to UNC's team. That would be 2012.)

Maybe this will distract you from the Sheep, so Hugo can again think about slipping off AWOL to another team...

Big fan of the old Megaman X game on SNES, so when it came to making a screen name I just changed it to Bluebomber cause I liked the bomb part XD and added X to signify X. Few days ago I abbreviated it to BBX to fit in armies and other stuff.

- Don't accuse me of cheating because I'm kicking your butt B)

Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 4:39:47 AM

I chose Typhoid.
Thought is sounded vaguely threatening at the time...
Like Anthrax...
Jeez, interesting name for a band-but isn't it some sort of bovine disease?...
Leaves you wondering...or not.

HankstaTanksta once known as #1 TANKSTER when I 1st started playing I used the name Hanksta, Just to piss off Foul Play I began using #1 TANKSTER because we would tie and I still wanted to be #1 on the list.
My name Hanksta comes from My real name Henry and people at work began calling me Hank.
Once a long long time ago a co worker saw me lift a 800lbs forklift battery with my bare hands and began calling me The Incredible Hanksta.
The name has stuck with me since.

Well, I don't know how I came upon mine. I think I was trying to think of a real-world object that had a ring to it. Filbert fit the bill. Also, at that time, a lot of peeps viwed me as a nut. That was a completely unintentional coincidence. MM was an army that I tried to start, (my first one.) When I found that no one would join, I kept it, and it came to be called "MM, the army of one."

Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 8:42:36 PM

Mine is from my initials.....P. E. STanley....... Didn't we have another thread with all this in a long time ago?

Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 9:28:40 PM

I wanted to come up with a cool sounding word as a name. So I thought of baklava only to later find it was also a pastry ( greek or whatever)

Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 9:58:08 PM

I won mine in a raffle.
