Forums Index >> Modding >> TMO's Custom Messages Hotkey Script

Page : <1> :

This code allows you to define several sets of Message hotkeys using your Function keys and Right Mouse. The message sets are defined by game type: Scrum, BM, TS, and TBM. (Note that Survivor and CTF are NOT supported by the game system - these register as Team Battlemode and Team Scrum I believe.) Every time you press the Message key (Ctrl H default) it will swap to the next defined set of messages for that game type. Once it passes the last one it will recycle back to the first one again.

Say I've got two sets of Team Scrum messages - one for general play, and one for PsychoScrum. I want general play to be my default TS messages, so I define it as Set 1. Then I define my PS messages as Set 2. When I enter a Team Scrum game, the first time I hit Ctrl-H it will load Set 1, my general messages. If I hit Ctrl-H again, it will load Set 2, my PS messages. If I hit it a third time it will load Set 1 again. And so on.

Let me know if you have any questions or problems with the script. I made it as easy to use as I could, but it's still a bit complex.

Enjoy -
Master TMO

***CODE REMOVED***

Note: There was a teensy tiny little bug in the code... When it checked for what game type you were playing, all it returned was the Game Type you had last defined when you Created your own game. If you were playing on someone else's server you didn't get it's config, only your own.

I don't get into the modding too much. I have no way to make my own mods, nor do I really have the time. Most of the mods I've seen go overboard with the trees and rocks. You don't see many mods that are like the original maps, just with different terrain and hills. That's what I'd like to see more of - more basic maps. Not too many trees or arrows or jump pads. Dash has some good ones along those lines that I've played on, although he did have that one map with invisible hills... XD

Random ideas off the top of my head:
Frantic map similar to the Spooky Bowl o' Death, but with a volcano in the middle
Small Spooky map with Extra-Chunky Fog - keep the ranges short, and the visibility bad, but not many obstacles
Lush map with very open terrain, few places to hide, but a crevice running through the middle with Mist in it and a couple of natural bridges to cross on. Any hiding places should be far away from the bridges - we don't want hiding tanks to be able to blast tanks trying to cross. If you want to defend the bridge, you have to expose yourself to fire.

Master TMO

Those sound great!

What if in the spooky map the tanks were almost invisible and you had to primarily fing them with your radar. You would be able to see the tanks as they were hit with the bullets.

Just an idea

I think that would be too difficult, unless everyone was forced to be in Heavy tanks. Lights just move too dang fast to keep track of them that way.

I had the same thought just after I posted this. I think your right.
