Catholic Cowboy is not what you want as an admin.

You beat me to it, Cat.

Thanks

RX has a nice set of admin guidelines.

Catholic Cowboy is either supposed to be an admin or is a hack.

I suspect a hack.

^ I assume KAG is just a clown. CC is someone else.

If neither, then a troll is among the admins -- and since CTF is within PTT, then there is a prob.

Just TELL me what he did, for crying out loud!!!! 8(

How about just tell us who he is for crying out loud?

Or what are the guidelines for CTF admins?

Is putting players in "time-out" in the observer mode after a player asks the admin himself to change his color and balance the game one of those guidelines?

Or how about shutting the game down arbitrarily as he did several days earlier?

At any rate, the idea is that everyone is under some sort of guidelines. They are either good guidelines, bad guidelines, or random guidelines. You cannot escape it. If these random guidelines are it, then so be it.

I play infrequently, but it is nice to know that at least all trolls are equal on CTF server when I do play. But having a troll as an admin is too far out.

So is that what he did?

What is the problem, CL?

You have to see it to believe it?

The idea is that everyone is under some sort of guidelines. They are either good guidelines, bad guidelines, or random guidelines. You cannot escape guidelines. If these random guidelines are it, then so be it.

BTW, the guidelines include admins...

Okay, I'll tell you the whole story...
Catholic Cowboy's real name is Nathaniel. I met him when I was five years old. We have been best friends ever since. He has proved to be a responsible admin on mine and his own servers, and he really wanted to be an admin on the CTF server. So I gave him the scripts and password. I told him to "be good and responsible" with it. I don't know about you, but sometimes you actually TRUST your best friends. I still need to know what he did on the server that was bad. As for the guidelines, they're pretty basic...

If a person is misbehaving (team-killing and/or swearing), give them a warning. If they keep doing it, give 'em the boot. If they come back and keep doing it, give them a banning warning. If they keep on team-killing or swearing or saying bad stuff about another player, ban them.

What he did is what I said.

No warnings. No team killing, no obscene language. No continued abuse. No repeat appearances.

Just arbitrary interference from the admin.

Basil Fawlty.

RX has some good, basic, simple, sufficient, intelligent, easy, plain, adequate, not overly complicated, clear-headed guidelines.

They are good for players and admins.

I enjoy beating gnats with a sledge hammer...no I don't.

I do appreciate what the moderators and admins do, BTW.

I thank you for your work. It makes it nice for a player to show up every once and a while and know that he can play a challenging game.

Ok this is all I did... Some guy (I think his name was zakzaco or somthing like that) asked me what I could do while being an admin, so I showed him by putting in observer mode, but took him out right away. He said that was cool and he wanted to do that again, so put him in it again but took him out when he asked to and other people asked me to do it to them, so I did but took them out when they asked me to. The only guy a even warned to kick was a guy who came in whith the name "The B**ch" but he changed his name so I didn't. Yeeeeesshh Peaple are blaming me 4 that?????

You may have fumbled the observer thing and put me there as well, but I talked to you repeatedly about what was happening, CC.

In the least, you are there to do the simple admin thing.

The person I saw was begging to be back in the game

Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 2:44:28 PM

@ CL
No offense but you had no right to give out the Admin. Pass to any one other then us Moderators ! You should of asked us Moderators first how we felt about it. We are a team, not just one person doing what ever they want ! XO

BTW, if it was an honest mistake(?), CL and CC, then assume...

...that you gave every liberal in the house a good laugh because you hung the conservative JJ for 3 to 5 minutes in mid-air while he screamed bloody murder.

Hmmmm… can I be an admin? :)

All kidding aside, I wasn't there, so I can't speak to the situation, and I don't know Catholic Cowboy, but I will say that I feel admin powers should not be used to show off to others in game. That's just not what it's about. Let's use this stuff sparingly OK fellas?
