Try using less of the "tin foil?" texture and use other ones. Also the brain glass should blend with the rest of the colors.
I don't think it's all that bad, It has a look some ppl will like, I think maybe it may not be a good choice for an army skin but heck look at some of the army skins out there. This is better then some of those. Keep working at it and see what happens.
