I was also a jackass today, but that may continue for the foreseeable future. I will the board posted.
Lone, You missed an opportunity to teach your kids a lesson that NOTHING gets in the way of a good game.... Not even a hail of bullets.
(Just kidding... If I were there I probably would have made it to the basement with my kids before you heard the third gunshot, your problem would then be to not slip on the piss that I left on the floor as I was running :-)
Pretty scary stuff.

Please please I beg you, if you have dogs,
don't let your kids find the leash or see you walking the dog.

I know two other people wh ohave a gun 8o
I love my randylion
@Jay
When I was over in Machester in '96-'98 I heard gunfire at least two or three times a week in some of the area's. And heard the IRA bomb go off at Arndale (I was two miles away). Most Americans have never heard gunfire in their neighborhood. I never have. And yes I personally own three rifles.
@ Lonewolf Scary Stuff man. Those basements come in handy. Glad that you and all yours are alright.
You guys set a perfect example of why I dont
post important info on forums.
You act like its some kind of funny joke. I don't know if LW minds but it gets on my nerves!
Truly scary stuff. Lone, I hope all is OK, and you did the right thing. I had a crazy neighbor for a while, and he terrified the neighborhood one day with his pistol. No one hurt, but scared people all around him.
As far as trigger locks, good advice. If there are guns in the house, they must be secured. If they aren't, kids get hurt. If they're unsecured so you can "get at them in a hurry if there's an intruder", you're a fool. More gun owners get shot by intruders than you would like to know. And the intruders didn't have guns when they went in...
I don't think trigger locks are enough. I prefer a gun safe. Good investment.
Do I own guns? Not right now. But I have in the past. I used to do a fair amount of bird hunting and deer hunting, but have gotten away from it. I didn't use them, so I sold them.

@ Sluggy
Sorry I never made it back tonight my friend.
When I returned home tonight from getting my daughter from a school event,
we walked into the house and no sooner shut the door and there was
Bang, Bang & Bang !!!!
Yes there was 3 very distinct sounds,
at least to any one who has hunted.
Needless to say I grabbed up my 3 kids &
my Grandaughter and ran them into the basement !
Turned on the police scanner to see what was up.
Come to find out there was some type of shooting 7 house away.
After about 2 hours they said over the scanner,
" The coast was clear for the ambulance to come down ! "
Once I heard that, I sent my kids to bed and took my dogs for a walk (you know what I was doing )
Needless to say it turns out the shooting happend at one of my son's friends house !
I have no clue what happen yet but once I get more info,
I will post a link to what happen, at least what the News Papers or Local News says happened.
So thats why I never returned tonight to the game !
@ All You Parents Out There
Please please I beg you, if you have guns
lock them up and put trigger locks on them even if they are locked in a Gun Case.
Also keep your ammo in a different location.
