I have to say guys, I think TT is starting to run it's course for me. I find myself kind of bored playing in the pick up games lately. I often wondered something but when Rooster announced his retirement, it kind of hit me again. I said "that's too bad, he made some great terrains, and nobody ever plays in his server." As I thought about it, I realized nobody plays anywhere but dash's, and Rx's server. I'm not saying I want anyone to gather in my server, but what I'm saying is, I find it really sad that we have around 140 mods and we continually play on 12 or 14. Currently I don't even look forward to playing because I'm bored with the maps. To magnify that, I feel that quite a bit of time, and effort, have been wasted because of peoples inability to accept, or lack of desire for change. I'm not knocking dash, or Reagent, both guys are awsome and do a great deal for the community.

SOMEONE HOST SOME BETTER MAPS!

Right now unless something changes I plan on finishing the Summer Scrum and maybe fading away. I also don't feel like modding at this point. I'll make a new mod and then I can let it get all dusty. WOW how freaking fun was that? Whoo hooo! Boner-time for nappy!

We had the oppertuninty to pick some cool maps for summer scrum, what happened? Only one non-current map was picked outside myself. And many people bitched about mine until they played it. Go figure. Pretty sad if you ask me.

Rooster, Crapblaster, Wiz/Triv, KBC,and I, have made some truely awsome places to play scrum. Too bad. All just a waste of time.

Yeah I agree it's time to shake things up a bit. I was just thinking it would be nice to have PSL 9.0 started so we could get another map rotation going.

@nappy
"Right now unless something chamges I plan on finishing the Summer Scrum and maybe fading away." - lol we know you don't just "fade away", not your style.

Hush-up old man, I'm trying to scare the youngsters. :)

Napalm - man - I would love to play your mods and all the others but mate - I cant get a decent game due to high ping. I am stuck with shockwave servers. And at best they are 250+ and all other well over 300.
Anyhow good work and stay cool man.

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 4:26:04 PM

Yes, the current maps being used are incredibly boring. I also think using the same maps over and over makes people too competitive and the fun flushes down the toilet.

New maps and more goofy chatter.

I'll start. I keep a picture of Jangles under my pillow and a picture of Nappy on the ceiling. I'm now forever the meat in the Jangy and Nappy sandwich.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 4:28:58 PM

I gotcha covered guys. Give me 'til the end of the week to finish my rotation.....I'll try to put a pictures up of one of my newer mods......(gulp)

I totally understand what Nap is saying. He's made some great maps, and when I run into people there, we always have fun. Unfortunately, it seems like it's rare to find players in there. I had a great time in the Dustbowl last week with Scythe and others. Nap's maps are great, and need more players. Tell a friend.

I wonder if some players aren't going in them because they are intimidated about playing TS. I think some dedicated indy scrum folks like me aren't giving it a try because the team game is just different enought that they are more comfy playing indy scrum. I'm just now warming up to the TS game.

Any good ideas for encouraging indy players to go to TS more?

Hey guys, I'm not complaining that people are not in my server. I don't care that anyone is in my server. What I care about is, where everyone gathers when I go to play which is typically 9:00-12:00 in the evenings CST. There have been no updates in either server to include any maps than the ones that are lready there. These are also maps that have been played in leagues which makes them used even that much longer. Add some new maps please, I don't care if their mine, there are many maps by others that are great. Again Roo, Crap Blaster, Wiz/Triv. Etc.

I personally like the feeling when I drop in a new mod and say "oh this is cool" It's been far too long that I have siad that where people were playing.

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 5:03:18 PM

I say drop the "PS8 maps" server and put up something new.

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 5:26:27 PM

I just haven't been playing as much lately, or I'd be all over the new maps. But for as little as I'm online lately, I can't keep up with the new maps being generated. I can't tell you how many times I've had to sit and wait for the 5 minute download for maps I thought I already had. So when I do get online, I look to see where the crowd is playing and join in for a bit. :S

Nap,

I get it now. You want variety. Yours, wiz, crap's, or whoevers, but you want variety... I'm with you. I really like seeing new mods, and seek them out. It's fun to play in different terrains.

So, those who run servers, how about it? Want to get some high quality mods running? Nap's got a good idea here...

BTW, NEVA's mods are fun too...

The other thing is that, unless these maps are played they will never make it into a league. When it comes time for the next scrum league the "these maps have not been tested" comment will come up. And yet we have had months to get together and check them out.

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 5:46:09 PM

Nap - start now for PS9. Get with Tally and/or some of the team captains. Find some maps you think would be good suggestions and start selling a list of them. Put on your Pimp Hat and Go!!! XD

Already wearing it! :)

Maybe I should go all out and throw down some cash for the whole outfit?

Is it me?

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 6:26:19 PM

I'll change my indie server over when I get a chance. Modders let me know via here or email your best small scrum map. I'll throw in the first eight maps I get. Also, let me know if it needs the expansion pack or not.

Yeah and I am a dead ringer for Brad Pitt too........(if you cut him off at the knees, added about 80 lbs, got rid of his "boyish charm", and made him have thinning graying hair)

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 10:40:00 PM

I talked to nap on IM and he's sending me a list of terrains. I'd like for other people to do so also. I'll setup and run a scrum server with new terrains and/or a much larger rotation. I've been meaning to mix things up I've just been busy

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 10:40:03 PM

I've also noticed some stagnation Nap. The release of the mission loader inspired me to look into getting a better ISP for serving. It's supposed get hooked up tomorrow. :)

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 11:36:00 PM

Who I guess all of this could be avoided by just posting 5 words.

Let's mix up the maps!

Monday, July 11, 2005 at 11:54:57 PM

Nappy!!!
My God man!
What did I say?
When I said I wasn't into making any more mods it was strictly a personal descision
A) I have used all the color combinations in the X-Pack that I can see (red green color blind)
B) I have noticed that I am making the same basic map in the last three mods - the reason
for this I think has to do with customising the map specifically for scrum - berms on edges etc
C)I really do have a humungeous backlog of vintage vinyl - hit a local radio station sellout at a buck per LP
and I now have all my fathers albums from the 40s 50s etc (some 400+)
I will email you a list of the 12000 songs I already have in MP3 - edit out what you dont want and send it back
I will email you some tunes!
D) My server will continue to run the best of my creations and soon will go 24/7 again

As you know time is precious and I have an impatient and agile mind! Much like yourself!
So I say this:
All things come full circle my friend!
I am still very much in and on TT
Now if I could just shoot straight!!!
lol

@ LGM
I suppose my mods aren't exactly cut out for a good TS game like Nap's and Roo's are, but I like to have my mods be unique. Doesn't seem to be big draw these days though... :S

Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 1:13:08 AM

@ Napalm, Rooster, Wiz,Crapblaster,Triv & KBC
I love playing on all your maps !
The problem is not many people have the Expansion back installed !
So I end up playing by myself :(

Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 2:58:28 AM

Heh I don't like this nap!

I'm trying to scare the youngsters.

Lol u won't scare me anyway.

Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 10:28:30 AM

I think we should have a huge server, hosting all the classic and NEW maps. Its even easier using Nappy's MissionLoader thread.

Or split it. One Server hosting old and classic maps. Another server hosting the new ones for PSL9

Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 1:49:31 PM

HEER HEER!

Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 3:24:31 PM

A 40 maps random rotation would be fun - including the 12 original,s the PSL Classics, and some 20 new maps!
It's up to the popular hosts (Rx, Dash, etc.) to upgrade their maps selection. Aie - more work for you guys! :o

Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 4:31:19 PM

I'm currently making a list of good maps for dash. I spent about 4 hours last night in a 2 minute rotation server and I'm not even half way through the missions I have. I'm going to try and go through some more maps today and then furnish dash with a list and any mission files he may not have at this point. The whole thing looks promising. Thanks for listening! :)
