Hi all,

I just wanted to voice how happy I am to be part of this wonderful community of like-minded people. Sure we have personalities and belief systems that can clash, but mostly our core group of friends here are respectful of those differences in the forums and in the game. We have all pushed each others buttons from time to time in defense of our beliefs, but it is because we are passionate and intelligent in our opinions that we engage in these debates to begin with.

I haven't been able to play as much lately and I guess having a level of separation has made me grow more aware of just how wonderful this community is. In addition, (as I posted in another thread), I recently joined a game that made me appreciate our community even more......

I played against the ATTACK idiots last night. My first time in a game with them. They were not the only fools in the game, I don't remember the other names but it was basically a scrum game full of nothing but whiney campers, divers, and battlemoders. After about a minute in the game, I stopped playing and watched for a while. What an idiotic game they were all playing. Made me think of Lord of the Flies.... What happens when you let a bunch of dysfunctional 10 year old boys create their own world.

Anyway, after a few more minutes, I craved intelligent conversation, good sportsmanship, and great camaraderie, so I left the game and found Frantic Slug loaded with the best of the best. We proceeded to have incredible games with great sportsmanship and fun intelligent conversation.

The takeaway from my experience with the ATTACK fools is an even higher regard (if that is possible) for just how good it is to be part of our community of friends here.

Frantic slug seems to be one of the best servers up these days, especially when sluggy is there to admin the game.

Also, Reagent X's "Baarnyard" server. Was on there for a bit last night.

Unfortunately, I havent had the chance to play Baarnyard, however, Sluggy's server is one of the best out there and almost always a good game.

@TG: I agree. I would have never thought this kind of fun could be had with people you've never met, and how you can get to know people by how they play and by chatting and posting. A great community of folks and a great game!

Dr. Slug's server was as fast as a Noo York minute yesterday.

The University of PlanetThinkTanks should confer upon the Slug an honorary PhD in Server Science for running good servers.

BTW, it is curious that servers low on the list sometimes play lag-less. Dr. Slug's server is always down near yellow for me, but was very fast (the way God intended that the game should be played) last night. Sometimes, it is not. Other times servers are high on the list but play like molasses.

As a test, I dropped out of the Doctor's server and tried a game up high on the list that had eight players and it was molasses?

The first notice of lag is usually "shot lag" where you push the trigger and the shots appear on the screen later, a whole lot later, or you see the barrel of the gun moving but no shots appear.
