Wow, what a question. You will see that everyone has their own evaluations and opinions of players.
You need to define the question somewhat to reflect the two vastly different types of scrummers...
indie scrum and team scrum. Being good in one does not always mean you will be just as good in the other.
I learned the hard way when I transitioned from indie scrum to team scrum!!! Big time!
***Removed my gigantic list of players. Moved it to my website if anyone wants to see a complete list of good scrummers.

Here is a rough top 10 list for indie scrum and team scrum... It's just one man's opinion, remember.
Also, the names change all the time...

Bolo
Tally Ho
Memphis
Ben (Fried Chicken)
Minnow (Magenta)
The Professor
VashStampede
Team Scrummers
Tally Ho
Bolo
Hanksta_Tanksta
MajorPain
Jangles
Ben (Fried Chicken)

Ass Clone Army

Blind cide
Dash
Ducky (Daisy Dukes!)
Lonewolf
Max
Mystery Man
Napalm
NUTS!
Pretty in Pink

Oh thanks paisano
Maybe it was an oversite leaving me off your list.
%) J/K
vYea I just recently started seeing you play in the indie scrums.
Hope we get to see more of ya in the future.

@GQ
lol..sorry...you are still new to me. I just remembered some other newcomers who have impressed me..
John (forget the numbers in his name) has gotten better with time too!
I don't think I've ever played when he was actually trying
Uhhhhhh...no....you've never played him when he was sober.
Lol its John79416<< hehe makes it hard to imposter me
^^^^^^ Also means something to me

Wow.. After 3 years of playing, I'm still not on the list XD
Well, at least one of my former alias's was mentioned in the "Missing players list" in your website pai- I've said too much..
@Tankster
Yet another oops! Despite how thorough I tried to be with my massive list of names (over 165 of them!), I managed to miss the founder (at least one of them anyway) of the (UF) army!!! Obviously you are an elite scrummer. I just don't remember playing you ever. I do remember all of your teammates such as wolf, scotty and more. All very good!
I pretty much am only an indy scrummer, and will only occasionally pop in for a team game. I notice the person that scores the most is rarely the best player in that particular server. I assume you guys go by points, I judge by moves around the goal, defense, and marksmanship. Many of the players that I think are good did not make that list because they are not big scorers, but may play some better scrum than ones that did make the list.
Where do I put myself on the list? Many would say, including me, that I am one of the best indy scrummers out there.....I dunno...... :(
@Neva
You are so correct. The best scrummer does not always win in indie scrum, especially when it's full of demo's and noobs who just camp, BM and..or play keep away and cliff hang...then dive and get rewarded with a freebie...argh!!! I've seen it so many times. Demo's and noobs scoring lots of fbs and getting lucky bounces around the goal after you make a nice long run across the whole map..only to feed them at the end. So it's the quality of goals scored that makes more of an impression on us veterans than merely the quantity. We know the difference. Personally, I'd rather have fewer high quality hard-earned spectacular goals rather than a boat load of easy scores against a bunch of noobs. Another reason why the best players don't always win is because their reputation makes them a marked man and lots of players keep them smoking (hence the birth of vets using aliases...heh heh). Soon enough, their skills give them away and they get BMed...and thus the birth of yet another alias. That's why TS is better. All good players..period.
@Pedro
Sorry bro. Yet another gaff!!!! I've added you....I know how good you are! You've learned from your Leroy Jenkins days.
Not to cause problems - but everyone has an opinion. I question that list of ELITE scrummers - some are just hum drum. It looks more like a list of everyone that has been in leagues...
Thoughts on this? Elite list seems too open and to include too many for it to truly be elite.
Just my thoughts.
@Supra
You make a good point, but that's your opinion. I don't think elite lists need to be brief in order to have merrit.
I do think there could be a few players who might be considered less than elite though. Maybe I am being too nice?
EDIT: Obviously, my silly rant was taken as peeved. I hate posts that do that... So I replaced it with this (in view of LGM comment)
Pai... You are very generous..... With the term ELITE.
I would like to be added to the list OR you have you remove people (LOL). HEHEHE...
I dont feel very ELITE, but I think I can be more ELITE then some of these...(do as you wish of course). When I think Elite - I think Navy Seals - Best of the Best - not who can play pretty good.
Whenever there is a post about best ever this and that... I always throw my comments in... And I couldnt resist this time. Pai has done the most extensive ratings on anyone and everyone. Im actually impressed with his rating scale he developed and the lists that hes done. Hes been doing it longer than anyone I can think of, and Ive been kicking around here a long time.
SO my 2 cents, and BTW, this is absolutely friendly banter... Nothing more.
%)

But when I think ELITE I think the absolute BEST of the BEST EVER.
Ok, now that is what an elite list of TTers should be, the best of them all. Not some newcommer (when compared to the people here for three years) like < should be on that kind of a list, but the truly legendary ones. BTW, you forgot -z- on your list pai.
I knew this list would get someone peeved...
Remember, what pai says is his opinion doesn't have to match yours. He's played some of us, and not played others. Some came to mind to him, so they made the list. Fair enough, and he never said it was perfect.
As for me, I don't think I'd try to make a list like this because I'd be sure to forget or tick off someone or a bunch of someones...
Ahhh
I see a shorter list... I hadnt seen that before. I was reponding to the LOONG list at the top in your initial post.
@Supra
You got me thinking, thanks. Yes, perhaps I am abusing the word ELITE. Here is the definition..it even uses the word FEW to describe it...lol.
If it means anything, the one name that comes up whenever I discuss the best Battlemoders of all-time is Supra.
Not blowing smoke or anything, just being honest. There is major respect for your talents. I remember playing you long ago when I started in BM and couldn't believe how fast you could shoot!!! I used to play as a heavy named PULL MY FINGER and everytime I killed someone I would say "Toot"... A catch phrase I took with me to scrum when I played as FLATULENCE (not to be confused with the dude who now plays as the Flatulator...I think he is Sherm).
Anyway, here is the definition:
Elite
> Synonym: elect, elite group.
Noun
> Synonym: elite group.
> Hypernym: upper class, upper crust.
> Hyponym: aristocracy, beau monde, bon ton, chosen, clerisy, cream, elect, few, high society, intelligentsia, nobility, pick, smart set, society.
> Meronym: technocrat.
A group or class of persons enjoying superior intellectual or social or economic status.
> Synonym: elite group.
> Hypernym: upper class, upper crust.
> Hyponym: aristocracy, beau monde, bon ton, chosen, clerisy, cream, elect, few
, high society, intelligentsia, nobility, pick, smart set, society.
> Meronym: technocrat.
You mean some tea-tea? ;)
Paisano, you put me in the long list... Thanks, but it wasn't necessary. I think I was a better player 3 months ago than I am now. I don't play enough to improve now. I think may be getting out of the flow...
The scrummers I respect/fear most? Memphis, Magenta and lately inxtc420 has been killin me. The soap brothers are really good too. I have been playing for a year now and I don't recognize half those names.
Pug
Thanks to Supra, I've reconsidered my use of the term ELITE and changed my post with the long list of GOOD scrummers that I have played.. :)
Makes more sense... Right?
I like it...
Thanks pai..
What I said just showed me that I need to work harder. Don't feel obligated to add people just because they nag about it. This is your opinion. Everyone has a different one.
The only thing I don't understand is why your not on the shorter elite scrummers list.. Or at LEAST the replacement list..
I appreciate your time to think of all those players, though!
Tank
P.S.
I am THE founder of UF myself.... "the" as in only XD
Pai, you've named everyone.
@Tally
Lol.. It does seem like everyone, huh? Trust me, it isn't. I've included many scrummers who have long gone away.
@MM
No one will argue with those four horsemen of death. They are in my top 10 above. However, I wouldn't discount the chances for another foursome of elite players. Here are some possibilities:
Mix and match any four players from the group below and see what kind of formidable opponents you could come up with.
MajorPain
Ben (Fried Chicken)
Minnow (Magenta)
The Professor
Pharmaceuticals
Reagent X
Ass Clone Army
Azazel
Blind cide
Ducky (Daisy Dukes!)
Lonewolf
Max
Mystery Man
Napalm
NUTS!
Trivox (Bot)
My first squad would be: Ben, Major Pain, Reagent X and The Professor (or Pharmaceuticals)!
Up and comers (New Kids on the Block)
I like these new players...new to me anyway...
Jedirieb
John4392??? Never can remember the name!!!
perousia
pugwash
@MM
The one man team will take on
all your horsies in your list.
Lmao...
The real real truth is anyone can beat anyone at anytime.
Name to name I havent played anyone on that list to know if
they are any better than any one on pai's list.
P.s. Hope to see u and bo at the convention
Peace

Practice makes perfect
Addendum, Dash is the consummate TS player and deserves to be mentioned.
Mag is also top-tier.
O man, me and those 3 clowns against some combo of Rx, Mag, Duck, prof, pharma is a match I'd pay to see, best out of five, 2 recording observers....
All this talk while me, nuts and napalm sit waiting for challenges from all pretenders to the throne.
Rogue, Nuts and Napalm are the best team out there. Beat us and I'll think differently. Hasn't happened yet. XD
So quit talkin' and start bringin'.
P.S. The only close match we've had was against RX, Ho and LW. All the rest have been severe beatdowns. The list of wins by us includes a pummeling of Bolo, Prof and Jangles. Bring it yah freaks! XD
Before anybody starts Nancying about my post see the three on three thread. This is purely intended to spark your interest. But, we really are the best. XD
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.
Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

It's true folks. The team of NUTS, Napalm and Rogue are kings of the hill in the 3 on 3 challenge . I don't think they've ever been beaten either? Well, maybe they lost in the last big 3 on 3 team scrum tournement by the eventual champs, Reagent X, Lonewolf and Tally Ho, but I can't remember for sure. However, they did beat the tournement champs in a rematch in the 3 on 3 challenge series.
Form a trio and put your name in the hat playa's.
Heh, we weren't a team in the three on three tourney. Would have been nice. The team I was on consisted of Leopard, Delta (who had only been playing a few weeks) and myself.

Ahh thats right I was with dashy and supra. Had our arses handed to us in game one by Prof, nappy and MM I believe. Then we had a good start to game one and one of them forgot it was the best 2 out of 3 and left. I do laugh about it now (kinda). I personally think dashy is one of the most underated players in scrum. Supra is probably one of the best team players and defenders in the game as well. I think if we had practice/played more we could have been a contender (or if someone would have stayed).
Hmmmm maybe someone should start the 3v3 competition again....
^^Yah Rogue I remember that, I asked you in a TBM server if you were in that 3 vs 3 , you said no so we paired up with leopard. After our first practice you asked me how long I had been playing scrum and I said not long, YaH it shows. I think I've come a long way since then. Thanks for my start, still have your list of pointers..
T-34, Bolo and I are still waiting for an answer on when we play you champs ?
I would just like to say - I would like a rematch of the Dash, Nuts! Supra game against MM, Prof and Nap - simply because my kid was VERY sick that night (hospitalized) and I was very distracted.
We also hadnt played together EVER... Whereas MM, Prof and Nap if I recall had been on the same team in scrum season. (I may be wrong at this..)
I want the rematch...LOL

Give me 'till April or May...the people, they want their tax returns filed...NOW!
Page : <1> :
This thread is the real deal. I've had the opportunity to play with some of the big boys lately, and the ones that impressed me the most were Tally Ho and Hanksta. In 44's defense, I don't think I've ever played when he was actually trying. I know my noobness has prevented me from playing with some of the greats of the past, and I hardly ever play teams. Who's the bestest? This outta be good...
