Page : <1> :

I have just installed Tiger and I have no in-game sound. I can hear the lush tracks playing but I can not hear any tank effects or shooting sounds.

Dual 1.42 ghz Powermac G4
768 DDR SDRAM
Built in sound card

Any Ideas?

Our first Tiger user... :)

I can only suggest to try and update your OpenAL driver or wait for an update of that. I've been having the same problem and I haven't even purchased Tiger...

Azazel reported this problem, and found a solution. I hope he can post it - I am on the road and don't have access to his e-mail he sent me.

One fix for now:
Disclaimer, do what you want, do not blame me for Bolo, err, mucking up your Mac.

1. Enable root with Netinfo (in Utilities)
2. Log out.
3. Log in as root.
4. Go to the the OpenAl frameworks in the TT sub folder and copy it.
5. Go to the Frameworks library in Mac OSX system library and rename the Tiger version of OpenAl.framework; to Original Tiger OpenAl.framwork for example. (Probably not necessary but I like the idea of keeping a copy of the original.)
6. Paste the TT version of OpenAl.framework into the System Framworks folder.
7. Log out.
8. Log in as your usual user and disable root for your protection.
9. Enjoy TT
