What happened....i didnt see the preakness
While he was running, he fractured his ankle and had to drop out after the first hundred yeards or so. They may have to put him down, but he is most certainly going to retire now.

Ugh - yea I just read the article in today's paper - I had forgotten the preakness was yesterday. Man, there really must be a "triple crown curse" First Smarty Jones, now Barbaro :(

Well, at least Barbaro made it through his operation. He is in intensive care right now. Apparently he had about 20 fractures and the surgery took 6 hours..ugh.
It's really too bad - and I thought he had a good shot at the Triple Crown too.
