Here in belgium is 'birdflue' really coming close to us...
Thereare 2 manners to get not infected

- wear a gas mask! X/ (if spreadable human to human)
- just dont touch birds and chikens. (if spreadable human to human and if spread from chiken to human)
That is the info we get here in belgium.

Sigh,

There is so much misinformations right now about this virus it is quite depressing.

A few facts.

Bird flu is classified as and H5 influenza virus. This is dangerous because the vast majority of the world's population has never had contact with this type of virus. At this point it can only be spread by direct human to bird contact in fluids. This virus at this point cannot be contracted by aerosol means. It also has a very low transmissability across the species. It is currently found in all of the northern Hemisphere as migratory birds have moved around the globe.

As this virus is not aerosol it can only be spread by wild birds (mostly ducks and geese) coming in very close contact with domestic animals.

There are many millions of different strains of the flu virus the vast majority have a very low level on virulence. The chances of the Bird flu mutating into a airborne virus is very slim.

The chance of another pandemic occuring is exactly the same that it was last year, the year before. Etc...

This is just another instance like the "Mad Cow scare". Yes there is a chance of transmissability but you have a better chance of being struck by lightning. Many bacteria actually pose a much greater risk to the general population.

And if you have a chicken and he don't have the FLU virus
kill andeat him fast before the virus get in him but I read in the books
