Page : <1> :

I think there is enough thought here for at least a discussion/interest thread. There have been some players that would like to take a break, or have a different format and then a summer break. If we started a mini-extreme league running for 8 weeks, who would be interested in playing?

This would NOT BE TBML 5.0. Likely, we would seek to have this on a different night as not to conflict with TBML going forward if there are enought to start immediately.

Possible format, team number, player interest, map suggestions - all submissions welcome.

Interested Players: NUTS!, supratank, Rabban, silb, Joe, Doc, wiz, Zenigata

YES!!!!
(copied from tbml 5.0 discussion thread)

I think having a mini league with extreme maps would be fun. We could call it TBML Extreme 1.0. Try to field the 6 teams again, play each other once, and just have a championship game. Keep same teams but have it 4v4. I think it would be great to work in some new captains and work some bugs out. I know I'll play but I won't be Captain. Heck if it works out we could have an TBML Extreme 2.0 right after over the summer. We could possibly then take it down to a 3v3 format to make sure teams have a chance to field enough players for the summer one. If we didn't like the extreme maps or anything from 1.0 we could then just change it for 2.0. When fall comes around we can take what we learned from from the mini seasons, good and bad, and start up again with TBML 5.0.

What ya think?

Mayby... If the game time are good for me.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Like I said, I wanna be on doc's heavy team. XD

Where do we submit our maps? I have a new one that I think is pretty extreme. I'll host it as soon as I'm finish the final tweaks and provide a download link so folks can check it out.

Does it have to be 8 weeks? How about 4 or 6?

Monday, March 21, 2005 at 12:18:21 PM

I dont think it has to be 8 weeks. It actually could be 6 games, or less. I just was picking a number that was feasible in order to allow for us be done by late May.

I would be cool with this, but I think 6 weeks would be a good length myself. Any longer and I'm not sure if I can do it.

My only Thing with this is Napalms maps, I can't get them installed for some reason. I installed the Expansion pack and I still was waiting like 30 min. So I just quit

Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 2:26:55 PM

If you can install the never ending download script you will be able to see what it's trying to download. I have had each OS tested with the install and no problems have been recorded. Are you certain this was installed correctly? I personally tested Windows and Macintosh, and watched Nuts test Linux. In each instance the installation and joining of the server went smoothly.

What OS are you using?

Give me some more information please.

You know I think I'll go for this. I'm afraid to use Napalm's mods though....I'm afraid I may slip on that icy slide, or fall off that steep cliff......you never know when your wheelchair will turn against you...

I am on PC WIndows. I have Modified Terrain Skins, will the Files that you have Change those? I seen that you had all the original skins in your folders. Will not using those Change anything? Can you set up a Download that has Just the Things you need? When I D-loaded the Pack I d-loaded you whole Think Tanks Folder it seems like, I had all the Folders "Missions,Effects,Objects" Everything

Monday, March 28, 2005 at 7:44:37 AM

Oh and By the way, I am Interested if I can get the Files Installed!

Monday, March 28, 2005 at 7:45:22 AM

*********************Clarification***********************

First let me state there is a difference between the Mod_Pack and the Expansion_Pack. Allthough the Expansion_Pack included the Mod_Pack up to a point. The Mod_Pack is current and should be installed after the Expansion_Pack. The Expansion_Pack is currently static and not going to change for a while.

@Frèédom (UF)™
What terrains have you modified? Do you have the file names? Are these stock terrains or you mean you changed some of Dash's terrains? I'm not sure what you mean. Please give me some more info. Napalm_tt@yahoo.com

Here the premis of the Expansion Pack.

The Expansion_Pack contains all of the stock terrains, stock textures, sounds and such. But there have been additional elements added to most of those folders. The install has been set up to try and make the installation as easy as possible. You may notice there is no "Tanks" folder. We tried to stay away from the folder as much of the files that create the experience (tanks skins, scrum goal etc.) are located in that folder. The others contain stock files and othere I have added. But many are in the same folders, I did not want to list each ad every file, per-folder. One of the texture folders has almost 200 files in it. Way too granular to do it that way.

My suggestion is of course, make a duplcate of your TT folder so you have a back up. Keep them seperate. Follow the instructions, if you need to go back for something, you can get it from the original. You can also go back and get anything you may have generated, and add it to the app your installing the expansion pack to.

Most people will not have any issues if the instruction have been followed. This has been proven in Mac, Win, and Linux.
You can always test this on "Nap's Mod Server" All of these mods require the expansion pack. I will update my terrains and have Reagent X post a link. I was going to do this yesterday but I have another mod I'm finishing up today. So if you visit the server today you will probably have to wait for the terrain to load.

Again email me or find me online and I can help you get this installed no problem! (email and IM are the same)

I have the Bezzle IBotI skin set made By- Master TMO
Yes I know about the Pack and Mod_pack difference
I just dont want to have to Go and re-change all the Skins for my terrains again... :(

Monday, March 28, 2005 at 11:06:19 AM

Then yes, I would install all of the mod stuff and then reinstall the Bezzel Bot skin set. I believe the bezzel bot skins have default names so overwriting with the expansion pack would indeed put things back to factory setting so-to-speak.

Thanks for asking about that though.

Here's another mod I just finished.

Hmmm...try to load Napalm's Expansion...noticed that it was a PC file....noticed it was 68 Mb......68 MB! That's a hefty lot Napalm. How many files are in there, and how huge is each map?

That's another whippersnapper belted by the feared AncientOne!

Monday, March 28, 2005 at 6:30:58 PM

@ NUTS! The mos is runing in my mod server with the 10 others I have created recently.

@ AncientOne(SA/DAS)

The file is a PC zip file. The reason being, is that a Mac can decompress zip and stuffit, while Windows can't decompress a stuffit file unless they have the Aladdin product installed. To make things easier I create an archive of the folder on the Mac which generates a zip file. This can be decompressed without any additional software installedon all platforms.

The Pack includes all of the modded terrain files up to 3/15 I believe, contains 35-40 added objects (trees, grass, rocks), and includes 196 new textures to create the terrains.
The maos arre no bigger than Dash's maps. Typically a modder will start with a pre-existing map and do a save as. Most of the recent maps I have created (the last 4 specifically) are actually samller than most maps. The intention was for the 2 on 2 Scrum tourney. I think they will do well for the extreme BM league.
Yes, I agree, a bit heafty but well worth 5 minutes or so to download. Most of the modders that have made mods previously are already using this expansion pack. It will be required for the extreme league, that is if you really want these extreme maps.

How does Hypothalamus Hills sound? LOL
