Did some searching and found out that a program called DTS Designer supports DTS related files, thus allowing you to possibly view and maybe even edit the models! Ofcourse it would probably be only client.side and I am probably getting in way over my head here, but Im going to do a download search for it tonight and see what I come up with, if this works then the stupid fact of not being able to make your own models will be broken!

I have loads of 3d modelers that should let me import the models into Designer if its what I think it is, I have Lightwave...3DS.Max...Mya........lots lol.

I looked, this has nothing to do with DTS models.

Well, there has to be some program out there that does, unless in someway they just masked the extension to be dts so people get confused and wont be able to get a program to edit them, if you can do it for unreal and half life and whatnot there must be a way for thinktanks.

<EDIT>

I found another program, Model Builder DTS. Reading now.

No, model builder dts has to do with the Microsoft SQL server. So does the first one you mentioned.

I'm not familiar with SQL, so maybe someone else here can explain it for me ;)

Dts = data transformation services

Same file extension DIFFERENT purposes

The torque demo mentioned milkshape and 3d studio max....there might be others...

I think some call it a decompiler,but I'm just learning.

I got it all settled out with a chat with IP, I have 3dsmax so Im going to try using that but Ill need to download a converter to change the files to dts format, in the meantime ill download torque and see what I can do with it. Thanks for giving me the info, Ive oly had think tanks for like 2 or 3 days now, well longer but Ive only done stuff with it for that amount of time, I just thought thered be some other way like in half life or unreal, ok, now to get torque. Thanks for helpin me out.

Torque isn't a 3d modeller.

And get milkshape, the exporter works better.

What's Milkshape's URL?

Is where I got it

My version is shareware. You can use it legally for a set number of times.

The.dts exporter is there somewhere and is a free download.

I posted the dts. Exporter url to another thread while ago.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

HERE is a program that can import, edit, and export many shape animation files including torque.dts files. For 40 bucks it just might be what some modders need.

Be careful with these tools. The DTS shapes in ThinkTanks are setup very specifically to work with ThinkTanks. They do not follow the normal setup or naming conventions of other Torque based DTS shapes, and toying around with them could break the game in some serious ways.

If you don't know what you ae doing, steer clear.

Good advice. The tribes.dts files are a snap to load, the TT shapes are not.

I'm working on "getting" unwrap. I'm "getting" it alright.

Consider it using funds from me "winning the lottery"................
