Been a Tool fan since I saw the "sober" video on Beavis and Butthead back in the day. Squiddy's a big Tool fan, also. I like the older stuff- the Opiate and Undertow albums are mindblowing. I still chuckle everytime I hear "Stink fist" on the radio.

Well, ya made go dig up my undertow and aenima CD's. I'll listen to them at work tonight. Opiate is their first album, shows how much their music has changed over time. "jerkoff" is one of my favs from that album. IMO, undertow is their best album. Aenema is pretty good, I think I have Lateralus lying around here somwhere, but I remember not really digging it when it first came out. I'll give it another listen. I've heard "Vicarious" on the radio a few times, and it's starting to grow on me.
"sober" video on Beavis and Butthead
LOL Fishtank I first heard them same song same show. Great band but I got to admit I don't know a whole lot about them
but like everything I've heard from them.
Im a big fan of opiate. True metal sound. Every album after that got a different sound. I like them all but not as much as the original
B
New TOOL album is pretty good! Good background music for the convention for sure.
The CD is pretty nifty too. Has a stereoscopic viewer built into the CD "jewel box"... Some wicked artwork. Just another reason to support the artists (yes, and the bloated music execs) and not steal the MP3s from somewheres.
I may sound like a noob,
But wtf is tool? 8o
^^^The Aenema jewel case has a viewer- Does the new album have one too? Maybe it's limited release.
How is 10,000 days, DJ? Would I like it?
I wont say anything on your tool band because this is an opion and and it has no room for my bias comments. SYKE why are there some many fannaticks of rock on ptt dont get me wrong I have no promblem with you its just I hate when yall start talking about rap. XD
YES
Going For The One
has always been one of my favorite albums. I never imagined I'd stumble on this gem!

I LOVE the first comment!
"This is just badass!"
No lead guitar or vocals but the song rocks even more! Another great comment about the above song:
FYI, Wakeman isn't in the studio with the rest of the band - he's playing the church organ in cathedral in Lausanne Switzerland, about 10 mi. Away from Mountain Studios in Montreaux. According to Rick (in a 1977 Contemporary Keyboard interview), the band rented a couple of phone lines and recorded the organ through them, which ended up being much faster than sending a mobile studio to the church.
I used to love Rush, but take a look at the sad cover band they've become. Geddy has a parrot on his shoulder and can't even hit the high notes.

Just bumped this thread because it was the first one to show up with "Songs" as a search. If you really like Metallica, you'll love these guys. They're a goofy mix of Beatles/Metallica.
http://beatallica.org/beatallica.html
You can listen/download ALL their songs from the music links. Like: I wanna "I Wanna Choke Your Band"
Beatallica... Where have I heard of them before?
^ which one's that from? Stinkfist? I have almost all the quotes on the Toolshed matched up with their songs, except that one...
Rediscover communication: Schism
Breathe in Union: Jambi
Watch the weather change: Disposition
This changes everything: The Flood
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot one:
Spark becomes a flame: Intension (has an ironic message if you listen to it backwards...)
On a related note, has anyone given any of Maynard's side projects (A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, etc) a listen? APC has some monster jams... Tool channeling Metallica isn't a stretch, but APC definitely sounds a bit like U2 on "The Hollow"... APC has 4 albums, Puscifer has 2 songs.

This is necessary... Life feeds on life, feeds on life...
The "hidden" track on Undertow, I believe. CD's in the truck- is the song title "Disgustipated"?
Haven't got 10000 Days yet, I'm lame. Really dig "The Pot", from what I hear on the radio.
^ Ah, Disgustipated... "Reverend Maynard, they are the screams of carrots. Tomorrow is the harvest, but for them ,it is a holocaust!"
The Pot is awesome, Right In Two might be even better, and I think it'll be the next single (completely unconfirmed). That's sad... 3 singles, still no video for Vicarious.
I started following TOOL back in 1996 or so when I saw them at Buckeye Lake park In Ohio during the Lalapalooza tour. It was the third or fourth Lalapalooza so it was mid 90's.
Since then I've gotten older and really can't handle the hard stuff like I used to.
I love Tool
I run every morning listening Tool in my iPod, is really energetic, powerful, give me adrenaline to continue running......
Matador }:8)
Tool sucks man get into rap you gothic scum
Pesky aircraft...boom!!
Rap is a joke. You tell him DJ.
I love my randylion
TOOL IS KOOL...
Start to listen real eurodance. That is something called music!
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Tool is a hard-rock band who plays nonstandard time signatures and plays music as heavy as Nine-Inch Nails. They won the 1998 and 2002 Grammies for Best Metal Performance for "Aenema" and "Schism", respectively. Here are some previews of what to expect:
Parabola (license )
Aenema (licence ) [EDIT: Explicit content warning for "Aenema"]
Vicarious (around the 3-minute mark)
Tool fans, if you exist, chat away.
