Y'think he just 'saw red'? badoomboom
Sometimes you get so carried away with taking someone out you forget your radar, at least I do anyhow...
I like being red... I'm no good at teams.

I love being the red guy. As a rule I only shoot the scrum carrier. Unless some knucklehead decides to place a clip in me I am more than happy to return the favor. I play for myself and will do anything to help my team :). I can never understand why poeple take me out when the other team is is driving towards the goal. At that point in time I am another gun for you, makes no sense.
I shoot at the red cause he or she may stop my teammate from scoring even if the other team has the flag, usually only if the red person is near goal or close to my team.i consider red the enemy(whole other team).when playing as red you should mostly shoot the one holding/carrying the flag. Or campers from either/both teams this way you can score and have less enemies around

I liked the red very much when it arrived on the scene, but now, more often than not, the red guy is a pain in the ass. Too often the red guy thinks he's a dog off the leash and behaves with total abandon, BMing arbitrarily or sitting in the goal and ruining the game. I'd be thrilled if making someone red was an auto-toggle into OBS mode. The vets get what it's there for, but harassment these days is all too common. If the teams get squishy, let red come in on one side.

I most times hate being the red person, for the simple fact it's like having a big target painted on you, alot of ppl seem to think the red means kill at all cost then continue to play the game after. In scrum it's not so bad but in battlemode it seems like you are a one person team against everyone, I have seen the green and blue teams team up to kill the red person and then they continue there battle with each other, but all in all it adds something differant to the game.
I do like being the red guy...it a unique challenge to have only yourself to rely on while two teams are battling intensely.
I do find it very rude to bm the red guy away from the scrum though...anyone who has played as red knows how difficult it is w/out being bmed. I never shoot the red guy unless he is laying into a teammate. Conversely as the red guy I only shoot the scrum carrier or others around the goal as I'd rather not draw too much attention.
Team scrum has evolved into a bming free-for-all....rightfully so. But I have noticed that its much more productive to shoot selectively so as to avoid hitting my own players. You can tell the difference between a seasoned vet and just a decent player because a vet will only take shots they know will land on their target. Others will shoot willy-nilly til they hear the dreaded "click click click". If I am chasing down a player with a teammate in front ill allow the teammate to do as much damage and only fire if I think I have a clear shot....no sense helping the other side. I think its the free-for-all mentality that causes certain players to lay into the red guy whenever/whereever.
Like NUTS!, I also love being the red guy, that's why when someone asks to be the red guy, I will argue with them for it.
The red guy takes skill to be, and the difficulty is higher, though being the red guy is basically like being in indy. I will only attack another player if they have the ball. When a player targets me out when I'm red, I am actually honored, because for once, I am actually considered a threat to someone. :)

That's another whippersnapper belted by the feared AncientOne!
I love being red. Simply for the reason that it takes quite a bit of leroying to score as a red. Now, when someone else is red, I shoot em if they're in my way, near the scrum/bearer (if it's our guy), or near the goal (that's personal). Red guy is someone there to purposely mess up a play, so I like to get rid of them before they can do that.
I love being red because then I can BM everyone! XD
*ducks*
I like the red guy, and I like being the red guy. Being the red guy and scoring is a big deal to me, and there is nobody to yell at you when you do something stupid (like leroy). To your point though, I too don't understand why people BM the red guy. Just yesterday I was chasing down the green scrum holder and got shot out by a blue guy. The green guy ended up scoring.
I've got a fever, and the only prescription, is more cowbell.
I love to be the red guy, I can unleash the Leeeerooot in me. %)
Seriously I love it. I radically changes a game when red is in.
Red is total FFA, from camper to BMer to runner to punisher to chatter. I never take offense on red - but red must try to score too.
Mandatory Red to Obs would suck IMO. I might as well watch the burning log channel.
Also I never felt that to be red makes one more or less the target.
What I've been craving for years is to have 3-way games blue-green-red: 3x3x3. But I'm not a modder. :)
^ That would be nice, and I've heard that someone's actually done 3 way gametypes before. Who, I don't know, but someone's done it, and if you bug enough someone'll do it again. Btw, that would be scripting, not modding. ;)
I like being Red, cause then you are really free... Its really hard in TBM sometimes, but if u r winning, the feelings are totally awesome! XD
In Scrum its also cool, cause everyone around looks stupid if they let a "Red Guy" to score XD

If theres a good 2 on 2 game or any game with even teams, and its a good close game,, the odd red players just runes it and I really don't even care to finish it. I think on entry of the odd guy, you need to make the decision on whether to sit him or make him observer or if the score is tilted put him on the losing side. Its the same as going one on one with someone and having someone else get in between. 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 should be no different. Theres nothing worse than having a great game going and letting the odd guy in. Maybe the red guy should be able to do nothing but defense for both teams.
This is just my opinion.
I also love being red,Cause we are the Real Reds XD XD
joke joke joke %)
My grandpa's a redneck
yes im a girl and yes this is my anime crush
I like the red guy. In fact I like 3 on 3 on 3. I just wish red had a team score so we could do 3 on 3 on 3 in tbm
B
I dont mind redness at all. Its worked smoothly for me so far, I dont really detect any sort of problem
I love my randylion
I dont like to be the red guy : my trip is to play team...
But as rooster admin I often get red 'cause of joiner/leaver : teams aren't stable.
BUT the red have to play : shoot the scrum carrier & he's not a running target. Maybe a rules comoilation could be made for the red guy ?
PS I love making 3 teams : 2Green 2Blue 2Red as its possible w/ players that I know (secret message to aliases ;) )
¤fully loaded satellites will conquer nothing but our minds¤
Three teams would mean very, very low scoring,, 3 teams of 2 would be 4 defenders against you when you have the scrum. Hard to score, and probably frustrating enough to not want to play. In fact it would be like 2 red guys.

That's really easy to do... I mean including the red team's score to the score list ;)
If a hoster would like hosting a 3 on 3 (don't interpret the bad way :P) I'd happily give him/her the script as long as he/she didn't release it... Preferably Windows ;)
^ Hey AC. We mainly play TS on Dash and Roos. That means they would need to install the script. So we could play 2 teams, or 3 right? We just decide - except we see the red score in the upper left corner. Which would be great!
Then we'll need the '4th Color Script' when we have 3x3x3x1 ;)
Red has everything easier. You can go on in rampage mode and spread your love bullets all around! Others can't do that.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
WTCINBTCTSFTMCUCICNCMBCDSWTC?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

LOL wtf do u mean?? :'(

@Hugo
After installing the script it'd be only a 3 teams game (shown in the scoreboard) and if people join, it AUTOMATICALLY puts that person in the team with less people. Something that is able to switch between 2 and 3 teams might be possible to make, even tough it might require a mission restart... It'd also depend on the admin script they use to be able to make the / code :)
Art, pass me along that script, I can test it on mac and windows.
My assumption is I just get rid of the.dso files and let the mac recreate them?
Napalm_tt@yahoo.com
It works fully on Windows :P
The only way to disable it is to remove the exec line in the main.cs and restart TT tough...
Anyways, care to meet in yahoo or msn messenger?
Art, any chance you can email it along to me. Email's in the profile...
cheers

Hello all
See I often play Red to balance teams and I would like some input here.
First off I would present my opinion on playing Red in team scrum
and second I would relate a disturbing trend.
First - IMHO the Red player is considered the "wild card" player.
He or she is there only when neccesssary for team balancing.
Its the red guys job to harrass the flag carrier and to exploit any mistakes that
allow a red player to score. Its an thankless job that provides the oddman the opportunity to
play while waiting for someone else to join. And inserts a new element to the game in general.
Second - Recently and more than once the red guy is singled out for battlemode
I can understand it if red is chasing your flag carrying team mate. Or camping at the goal
Or battlemoding you but more often than not I have seen certain players completely ignore the scrum to blast away at Red. Just today I experienced this player targeting me and not the scrum
He let the opposing team carry the flag right past him because he was soooo intent on taking me out
I wasnt blocking the goal and was not near the flag.
I dunno - maybe its not a "Red" thing....maybe he just hates chickens
What are your thoughts ?
