After all I've been playing, I haven't figured this out yet. Sometimes it seems like other players are going faster than me (if I'm chasing them, or they're chasing me). Is there some tactic to go faster, or is it just me?

Whenever you are hitting an arrow, there are certain ways to go faster. Not like cheating, you just have to know how to do it. If you "drift" into the arrow, you will go faster than just going head-on into it. It's not as complicated as it sounds, you just should be going slightly sideways as you go forward. Other than that, in every other situation 99% of the time another tank may be going slower or faster than you because of less lag or more lag.

I see from your info that you are from the U.K. Which means you will suffer from lag. Lag will cause you fall behind the others. Getting faster pc, faster Internet, cleaning spyware related crap can improve your performance. Try to play on the servers which got the lowest ping(shows on top of server list). The lower, the better.

Myself I have noticed people driving faster than I. Try to get next to next with some other players and follow them to see how much you fall behind. The straighter the route, the better.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Actually thats an error, im from the US. But I have lag anyway so its not that relevant. :(

Try throwing the peels behind the tank, not in front, that may help.
