Get Ad-Aware it works very well to get rid of pop-ups and other things that will slow your computer down.
Well, all Antiviruses are slow, as they need to completly scan the code in the files... I recommend Norton AV (2005) (has anti-virus, anti-spyware and adware etc)
I like to have more separate apps so I also have Ad-aware (registered, its better :P) and Spybot Search & Destroy
I have both cos one might not detect it all so scanning twice with both makes me ultra-protected :)
Remember, the last 2 are NOT anti-viruses
If you want a free Antivirus try using AVG..
Sry about not including links, but I think you can use google :)

Here's a screenie if anyone recognizes this:
This is an excellent one.
SpyBot: Search and Destroy is good for getting rid of Spyware and adware.
If that doesn't work, Ad-Aware should.
All of the above are good (I still use them all). However, we are having great success using Microsoft's new AntiSpyware utility. We like it alot because it keeps running in the background like an AntiVirus program, ready to block any attempts to install spyware/adware! It's also free (for now!).
Download here
I like the ones for Alle computers. Oh wait, there not needed. :) None fo those programs are needed. How sweet it is!
Great. I have removed a trojan virus and that was the pop up for antivirus ggold. Now, all I need to do is remove the background "Pop up". I right clicked and viewed its source and then deleted it but my background went completely gray. Any ideas on how to remove this background?
LOL all I had to do was pull the tab down to move the window and exit it out.
"could broke your life!"
^ Yeah... This is some lowlife person trying to put trash on your computer. It's break not broke! Dumb person low-life guy.

The lowlife is the person who doesn't have the brains to know not to run.EXE's without a scan beforehand, in my opinion these numbskulls deserve all they get.
Hmmm go change that background! Some app most have changed it to a web page (preety easy), try changingit back and closing all the processes you know you do not need, then clean your computer with spyware and ad-ware scanner... Also go to install and remove software and remove any program you DIDNT install... Then to end go find folders on the HD you know arent things you want, and get a startup programs editor and delete any program you dont want... After that restart the computer and see what happens...

Well I have recently gotten a program on my computer installed called Antivirus Gold but I didn't download it, it downloaded on to my computer by itself. Also the background of my computer turned into a "pop up" telling me I need spyware removal and it had a link. I can't seem to get rid of this new background so I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to get rid of it.
I've tried norton antivirus but it is too slow. I also used Xoft spy but that didn't work. I also keep getting a pop up I need a virus remover and it's linked to antivirus gold. I downloaded it but nothing went away XO please help!
