Yes you can just right click and edit.

You can use jedit , I like that one its simple and can be used on any operating system. If you want editors geared specifically for torque try Torsion and/or codeweavers (windows only I believe)

Or Tribal IDE... Wich I must say is the one of them I found best, and I use it to code ALL my scripts :)
I'm really used to it...

^I also used Tribial IDE (Thank you Dazzle)
But now I use netMercs Codeweaver (special for TSL) Link

Down with vi, emacs forever!

Actually, I use http://www.crimsoneditor.com/ for most of my script dabbling.

Dso files you must open with a hex editor. I use Ultra Edit. You must be INCREDEBLY careful when editing those files.

Notepad is fine, but Wordpad and MS Word can cause errors. Blah, don't get in the habit of using those for scripting.

^ yeah all the formatting and everything...

I use JCreator... Mostly because I use it at school for Java and it seems to work nicely for Torque...
The only downside: no syntax coloring for anything other than Java and HTML
