Groups. Do we have use for this?
The allocation option was there before.
The problem with groups is everyone has to use a credit card to get a.mac membership.

We won't know how useful Groups will be until we try it. True, only.Mac members can access it but look on the bright side...it keeps those pesky Windows users out :P
I wouldn't mind trying it if any other.Mac members want to test this new feature.
EDIT: Just read the FAQ for Groups. Looks like using a trial membership allows you to join a Group. After the trial expires, you can still access the Group and it's features.
Q: If my.Mac membership or trial account expires, can I still be a member of the groups I've joined?
A: Yes, you can continue to use your.Mac name and password to access and use group web-based activities, including reading and sending messages in the group message center. The From: address for your messages will be the group address until you choose a new email address for group membership in your profile page. To reach your group, go to www.mac.com and select Groups on the.Mac tab.
Q: How do I access the group's iDisk if I no longer have a.Mac membership or trial account?
A: The network address for a group's iDisk is http://idisk.mac.com/groups.groupname.
If you're using a Mac simply use Connect to Server in the Finder's Go menu, enter the group iDisk address and, when prompted, your.Mac ID and password. You can then access the Group iDisk and all its folders in the Finder. If you're using a PC running Windows XP, use "Map Network Drive" with the group's iDisk network address.
Q: Can I join a group with an expired.Mac ID?
A: Yes. Even if your.Mac account has expired, your.Mac ID remains valid for membership in.Mac groups. Once you are invited, log in with your.Mac ID and accept the invitation and proceed to the group page. To receive mail from the group, click the Edit Profile link at the bottom of the group home page to add or choose an alternate email address. Your group correspondence will be sent to that alternate email address (once you have chosen it as your address for that group).

@ All Can Napalm send a movie there (group option) for us to see it?
The 2 GB is for a family pack not a regular account. I have no use for a family pack so I'm still at the 1 GB mark. Delta, I will have to see if I still have the jsave file. It's been a while since I made that recording. I'll get back to you about it. :)
Sorry guys but there is a 100 MB limit on Group data right now. From the FAQ :
Q: Can I buy additional storage for my group if it approaches its 100 MB limit?
A: Not at this time.
I'm sure Apple will expand the amount of space a Group can use but there is no telling how long it will take them.

Hey I just noticed that Apple has increased the iDisk space available to.Mac members. Now the default space is 1GB. I had perviously upgraded to 1 GB, and now low and behold I have 2 GB of disk space! Woot! Now I can host more TT movies! :)
Also a useful feature I only found today is that you can allocate your disk space beween.mac e-mail and the idisk. The default is 50/50, but I just changed mine to give me more idisk space. Yum!
