Lonewolf was in a major car accident last night on the way home from taking our pet snake Sasha to the vet for her yearly check up. A drunk driver ran a stop light and T-Boned Lonewolf on the driver side of the car.He is in a coma.I will try to update his status daily for you. On another sad note Sasha died in the accident.Please keep us in your prayers.I know he loved you all, cause he talked about you all daily. Well I have to run, on my way back to the hospital to be with him.

Just decided to read this thread. I had no idea what a serious message I was missing! I only played the guy a couple times, he was definitely one of the most sportsman of players. It doesn't seem right to have such a thing happen to a guy like that.

As for the rest of you who wish to flame this board with your disbelief: that message was posted from LoneWolf's account. LoneWolf has not come online to post to say to say that this wasn't true (and he usually posts often). I think most of his more familiar tank buddies can vouch that he would not conduct such a foul joke. And most of all: what exactly would the perpetrator gain from your belief? There is no reason to think that this isn't true. It is very plausible. My PTT icon sits right on my desktop, and my browser has the cookies and password loaded in it. Jessica could post about me if she wanted to.

No, it wont get you arrested, but it is in poor taste, and is hardly nice for someone (who has kindly taken the trouble to inform her husbands online friends - probably people she has no real knowledge of - about the situation) to have to read. If you have nothing to say other than announcing your disbelief or mocking others for posting their sympathies, then please refrain from posting at all.

Heck, I know if anything serious should happen to me, I'd hope, and be thankful for someone else to take the time and trouble to inform people who would otherwise have no idea about the reasons for my absence.

Perhaps also think about what how you might go about it if a very close friend/relative of yours ask you to be the person to inform a community completely unknown to you about their absence. Would you find that easy? What about reading some of the replies to whatever post you may have made, with people mocking you for having done so or being disrespectful about your friend/relative. How would that make you feel I wonder.

I do not recall making this post. It was not until Rx mentioned it to me this evening that I returned to this thread thinking that someone had responded pretending to be me. But to all appearance I did indeed post the above.

Perhaps I did not read the entire thread, as I am wont to do, though I realize that is no excuse for an insensitive response.

Perhaps I thought it to be another "I have cancer-just wanted to get your attention" post. I am particularly sensitive to posts of that nature.

You are correct - your being a complete tool won't get you arrested . In addition, unlike a situation were you physically present, you're also correct that there's not a whole lot that can be done to you (other then -z- flat out deleting your post, which he hasn't done. It's called "class", and you may want to look it up).

HOWEVER, you have become irrelevant. Your comments actually tell the world more about you than you realize. Hopefully you can get your issues addressed at some point and stop subjecting the rest of us to your sad existence. Until then, I guess we just have to all put up with you playing the role of the village idiot and respond accordingly...by ignoring you. Hopefully you will be able to rectify your problems, as I suspect that if you don't your future cellmate will be more than happy to.

Astonishing. In a coma on Monday and out of the hospital on Friday.

I can't believe they were able to finish that incredibly overwhelming battery of tests and scans needed to make sure he can return home in such a short amount of time.

I too am very sorry to hear about the accident. I am glad that there is improvement, and I hope that he is home already. Lone is one of my favourite players to play with because if his great attitude and great skill and I have sure missed him on the late-night games the last week or so. He leaves a hole in the community. My prayers are with him. GET WELL SOON, LONEWOLF!

@Mrs. LoneWolf: I am TRULY glad to hear he is coming around. That first moment when he gained consciousness for a bit must have been a wonderful one. Heh, can be a tad infuriating when they drop out again(I had a soldier who slammed his skull during a training exercise). Sounds like LoneWolf is recovering nicely.

Hopefully he'll be back in the forums and battlefield soon. Next time, tell him that he must wait at least 30 minutes after a game of ThinkTanks before he can go driving. Probably still thought he was in a tank. Out of curiosity, did he blurt the words "Pass" after the crash? :P

(Sometimes you just have to find the humor in a bad situation in order to to handle it better.)

Oh for god's sake, I can't believe how a thread as sensitive as this could stir up so much attention. There are some people who live to hate, to be annoying, to be just plain asses, and there are other's who do it for fun.

I'm not sure what kind of lowlife would target someone in a situation like this, but I speak for the entire "good" PTT community when I apologize for adapt's comments, and I hope Lonewolf will get better real soon. I'm sure he will. My prayers are with you, him, and your entire family.

It may well have been, but in all honesty it must be confusing enough to look through a list of alises and weird player names you have never really heard before. I applaud and thank you for having the courage to post to a board of complete strangers on behalf of your husband about the news during what already must be a trying enough time. Especially to then have to put up with the comments made by some of the small minded people, and the bickering and passing of insults between other members in what is otherwise a normally civil forum.

Remember, names here have to be registered. Names in the battlefield can be whatever the impostor chooses. Unless the exchange was by eMail, I would question whatever you hear from a "Lonewolf" in Scrum or BM until he returns to the forums.

Correct. The poster who started this thread is the real Lone or his wife. The account was registered on Feb. 19th of this year and already has 274 forum posts and 10 topics created. So, I doubt it was an impostor. The person you met in game was most likely the impostor. It was probably that adapt guy if you ask me.

If he was fine and THIS was done by an imposter, the real LoneWolf would have spoken up by now.

Agreed. I sent Aaron (Lonewolf) an email to see what was up and he hasn't responded or even picked it up for that matter.

Well, I have just received an update from Mrs Lonewolf.

Seems that the other evening, he attempted to get out of bed unassisted when no one was around and fell in the process, hitting his head and causing a mild seizure which in turn caused some swelling of the brain. They then had to operate to relieve the pressure in his brain but he is now apparently out of danger and recovering. Looks like he's going to be in for a while longer.

@(UF)Scotty: (UF)Law(AB) wanted to thank you for the game of scrum the other day and for just letting him play to get his mind off things without being asked loads of questions.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Lonewolf clan.

Sounds like he sustained a pretty bad concussion (bruising of the brain).

Head injuries like that can take a long time to resolve. It can be very difficult for the injured person and their family/loved ones to meke it through the healing process. A lot of patience is required. It does not happen quickly. That type of injury can cause a lot of short term changes in the person - weakness, loss of balance, poor judgement coupled with impulsive behavior, memory loss, headaches, on and on. It all really varies person to person and injury to injury.

The brain is so complex. Even the best Neurosugeons have a better time explaining how rather than predicting when and telling why.

The swelling from the initial injury , and it sounds like the reinjury from his recent fall can cause a person to have seizures (abnormal electrical firing, or excitation, in the brain). Having a first time seizure right after an accident like this does not necessarily mean one will have seizures forever. Sometimes they happen when the brain is in a recently injured state. Again it is so hard to predict final outcome given the complexity of the body part involved.

(Needless to say I am not trying to infer that I have any knowledge of Lonewolf's specific medical condition or can project any outcome on his part - just trying to give some background info so we can all understand what he and his family is going through)

All that said it is amazing what a human body can go through. The resilience of people, the ability to bounce back with the help of their own inner strength, their family, their support systems, spiritual powers. Hey even us "trained health care professionals" help out now and then.

Believe me, us health care workers have seen miracles like you wouldn't imagine.

In the mean time...you are in our thoughts!
