So. %) XD

Tuesday, February 08, 2005 at 10:00:08 AM

O...BTW...i meant that to apply the above to TS only...no idea how things go in indy scrum. I personally now hate indy scrum. That's where all the douchey demos hang out, that's where the massive 10/10 clusterfooks happen, where the majority of foul mouthed, evil intending braggarts and anonymous motor-mouths ply their feeble trade...indy sucks. I'd rather BM than play indy...unfortunately, most of the indy servers are better for me than the team servers...

Who's the best indy scrummer? Who gives a $hit...?

Sunday, February 13, 2005 at 5:33:28 PM

I've never played scrum with a lot of people but I'll have to say (going from Excellent to Good) :
(UF)LoneWolf
Raven
woohoo!
jangles

That's all I've played with I think, if I've played with others, I can't remember...

Sunday, February 13, 2005 at 5:54:54 PM

Clusterfooks...good word Stink. It aptly describes the indie goal-site situation.

Sunday, February 13, 2005 at 10:59:24 PM

Eeps...dunno...I've played 1 on 1 only vs. Minox and Trivox, not same time.

Not in any order;

Lonewolf
Reagent X
dj_breaka
dar (was cool in Season 7 video, Reagentx.com)
Tally Ho
...hmm....MonkeeMan

I haven't seen others in action or forgot names...
so %)

Minox IBotI
Trivox IBotI

@Sniper

When I started TT and was DEMO if I can remember, I always hated you becouse you killed me everytime. XD

@Sluggy

Thanks to hosting Clown alley! I started from there. Heh, my first name was Clown IBotI XD

XO What a heck it was before it!? Sluggy do you remember? My first name was 'soldier' when I didn't play online.
Then I changed it I think...

Monday, February 14, 2005 at 7:44:00 AM

I haven't done this in a while, but I used to keep tabs on my wins and losses. I'd keep a little notebook next to my computer with two columns. Whenever I played a full round, I'd put a tally mark on the left column. Whenever I won a round, I'd put a tally mark on both columns. If it was a tie, I'd split that tally mark by the number of people who won the round. By dividing the number of wins by the number of rounds played, I could calculate a "Win Ratio". My WR fluctuated a bit, but was right around 80% on average.

Maybe I'll start doing it again. I wish the game could keep track of that for us.

I had a similar scoring system with the Individual Scrum Championships, a league I tried to start up a while back but no one was interested.

@Pai, so I consider myself one of the top 10 scrummers in the game... It's not that I'm not humble, it's just that I'm self confident. I don't see anything wrong with that. So long as I'm not cocky or arrogant about it.

By the way, I think I'd have to switch Cadc's name on my list with Minox. Nothing against Cadc... He's a great scrummer, but I think Minox might be better. Trivox / Vash is up there to. He might even be better than Minox.

In fact, here's my revised list for top 10 Indi Scrummers

Tally Ho
Jangles
HankstaTanksta
Bolo
SteAlth
MaxCR
Ben
Trivox (Vash)
Burnsey
Prof

Lonewolf and Reagent X would be on my list if I was rating best Team Scrummers. But the question is, who are the best scrummers.

I think the best team scrum players would be

Tally Ho
Reagent X
HankstaTanksta
Jangles
Lonewolf
KID
Sluggy
Prof
MajorPain
Ben

For the record, there are many folks out there who I just haven't played enough to make a determination on how good or bad they are. Like Paisano and Scotty.

@Boo, does cerebellum or xxx ring a bell?

@Deej Is Trivox and Vash the same person?

Monday, February 14, 2005 at 6:06:22 PM

@Deej
Good post and list.I disagree with a couple of selections, but we've had different experiences with these players, obviously. Also, thanks for mentioning that you haven't seen me play enough lately to really judge my game. I know that I've improved a great deal, so you might be surprised.

By the way, I used to do the same kind of thing you did with keeping track of wins and losses and also averaged in the 80 to 85 percentage range at my peak when I played every day, including mornings, lunch and afternoons. Now I just play late at night if I am lucky and only team scrum. I even took screen shots of every result just to gauge and evaluate my competition and how everyone did and how I did against them. It was fun watching the progress as I'd never win, then only once in a while, then 10% of the time, then 25% of the time, then 50% and ultimately in the 80s.

Note: Using aliases helped my win percentage a great deal because if you keep the same name after a couple of wins in a row, then players start to get ticked off and start bming you to hell out of frustration. I'd slip into a new name and persona and win again and so on. I've stopped using aliases long ago too. I just enjoy being myself and playing high quality team scrum with the best of the best.

And yet, I'm not on the list because I don't play teams, but of course, I'm not that great at indi anyway. %)

Monday, February 14, 2005 at 7:17:50 PM

@Racer
Lol... You are the future of TT cause you're only 11 and already one of the best. I think you're forgotten from these lists because of your age which also explains why you can't play late at night with the best of the best in team scrum, which means less exposure of your great skills. Eventually, if TT is still around in a few years of course, when you are a teenager staying up real late playing ts, then everyone will remember the name racer when this silly lists come up as they do every so often.

There....feel better, kid? :)

Monday, February 14, 2005 at 7:44:01 PM

Stink: so im last on your list???

I c how u r.....SOB

:)

BTW play the CHAMPS...then tell me I dont play good team scrum...

Macel Duchamps is the best, wildest, and most unequivocally satisfactory human in the game. VIve la quebec libre!

Ah - night games... I remember when the mrs used to let me stay up for those.

Good times!

Now I'm stuck tending the kindergarten that is the daylight hours :(

Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 7:51:32 AM

I don't understand why there are Vash's name on brackets after my name... Does it means he wants to be as cool as I am? :o

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 8:22:36 AM

Hey deej im not triv, and triv is not me.

All the players mention here are very

Good players.

On any given day I can beat them all

And all can beat me.

When my connection is working well and

All my spawn locations are next to the

Goal, no one in TT can win me. And I

Would say that for all the very good players.

I dont keep track of my winning percentage

But im sure it would be pretty high.

I think there are three level of players in TT

Noob(first 2-3 mons) goodplayer(some may stay at this level) verygoodplayer(everyone listed here).

@triv if only I could be as kool as you.
maybe you can teach me how to bm
some day.

Wal

Spony!

Btw - is az still showing up for the night games?

Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 11:22:21 AM

Hey Wal! Long time bud.

A list that I'l like to see started is "Who is it you'd rather play with?" not necessarily the "best." There is a heck of a lot of players I really enjoy playing with who I don't see on these top 10 lists. Maybe I'll start that tonight... Off to work again.

Bolo...that list was upside down...you're at the top, you gd sob:)...actually, its in no particular order...just wrote it as my muse guided me.

Vash: hear-hear brother! And you could add yourself to the list as well...

TO ALL THE REST OF YOU LOW PING PANSIES....if you all played from japan, you would call me MR. Stinkfingers! And Sir....and be all "yessir, MR Stinkfingers, sir..." I run a ping check on some of you bastards, and you are running lower than 50! I've never played below 150, you ninnies....i hover around 200...

Its a good thing I ate a lot of acid back in the day...laggin through missing frames, flashbacks, black-outs, jumbled cacophonies of sounds, swipes by people who aren't really even there...it all takes me back to college. Go Ducks! And pass the blotter! Thank you Jerry!

Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 1:56:03 PM

I'm not appreciated... :) Gone is a new good player though...

My list:

Tally Ho
Jangles
HankstaTanksta
Bolo
SteAlth
Ben
Burnsey
Prof
Scotty
44
for indie though...

Pray to GOD for him to reveal himself to you.

Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 1:58:16 PM
Wal

Oooooo, good one Flea! Gonna have to dig far & deep to give that the thought it deserves...

Wal

Thanks 44 for the props on your shortlist. Considering the source, that is the highest praise I could imagine!
We've had many great games... I miss playing in the morning with you clowns! It was more electrifying than 10 cups of coffee!!!

@Minox
By the way, many weeks ago I mentioned your name as one of the most underrated players in scrum in my thread on the subject.
It's still on here somewhere, buried in the muck and the mire. Sure wish we had a friggin' search feature...argh!!!

Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 3:52:43 PM

We do its right here,
Planet Think Tank Search

Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 5:23:25 PM

@Lonewolf
It's ok..but not really what I'm talking about. Bolo already explained what we really need in the thread you posted above.
We need a true search feature. Dan Mac will have to do it.

Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 5:55:08 PM

Split personalities don't win popularity contests, eh. How about a category for most consistently different? I'd vote for Ted, Magenta, TargetPractice, DontShoot, and LunchBreak, and of late, Alias :) Oh yeah, and from the wayback machine, who remembers Archer?

I'd like to add Evil*Twin and Smokin J to the mix. Always excellent scrummers and strong teammates.

Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 3:13:55 AM

Im in the top 50 maybe...no way I could be in the top 15 or 25 or something I better at BM

Phoenix

Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 10:52:41 AM

@Paisano, I know you're a good scrummer, but we haven't played eachother very much. =) Maybe we'll end up competing for the 3 on 3 championship, and then I'll be able to see first hand how good you really are. But you're going to have your work cut out for you. If you can get past the champs, I'd be really impressed.

@Racer445, I agree with paisano on this one bud. You just need more exposure.

@Bolo... My list is in no particular order ;)

@daisy duke, Macel Duchamps? Never heard of him... But I'll take your word for it.

@Tally Ho, mmmm cupcakes :) yummy!!!

@44, LOL you crack me up!

@Wal, I hear ya bro... I'm in the same boat!

And all this time I thought Vashstampede and Trivox BOT were the same... Sorry about that.

@Fleabiscuit, you've always been one of my favorite.

LOL Stinky =) I've never played with a ping higher than 50. That could explain a lot. I vote Stinky, 44 and Fleabiscuit the most entertaining members of the community!

@Jacob(SF), thanks for the recognition. I've played you a few times and you're definitely getting better. Keep practicing though...

@Minox IBotI, I've always respected you as a scrummer. You've proven your worthiness many times...

I remember Archer =) Whatever happened to that guy? I haven't seen Az in over a month. But then, I hardly ever play anymore...

I remember Spony as well! Spony and I still e-mail eachother from time to time. I've gotten to know him a little bit. He's a pretty cool guy. Dedicated to his family in Portland. But he hasn't played in over a year, so I think it's funny that you mentioned him Vash.

@Phoenix, long time no see... How long have you been back?

Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 11:45:34 AM

^ spony sure plays saw him last time few days ago playing scrum... He just play different time than you.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 12:45:48 PM

@Deej
True. We haven't played much but more often than you realize because I used to play with aliases a lot and from what I recall, I beat you most of the time (you'd sneak a win here and there). You usually played as Atreyu back then (I was usually numbnuts, flatulence, gravedigger, etc.). We had some great battles with anon and burnsie too.

Anyway, looks like the champs have resigned and given up their crown (now three times its original size thanks the expansion of their massive noggins)!
We might not even advance because we can't schedule the match with our European opponents who are not willing to compromise much with their schedules.

Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 4:19:36 PM

@deej

It might be the impostor posing as him.
I played agaisnt him the other day.

@pai

I'll crown you guys as champs now, if
no one will give u a game. You guys
work well together as a team.

P.s. All of my aliases I play with are listed.

Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 11:54:11 PM

With out a dout.... Memphis.. And LilAlienD.. Not only top notch and proven indy players.. But some of the best team players any scrum team could ask for... Honered to have FU in their names..

As for others...
Pai (honered to play beside this one... Cat has skills.. Silent and sneeky, all ways on top of scoreing lists)
Tally Ho (air goals and all this cat can play)
44 (once had an FU attached to the name and a player to the end.. Layed back cool style that is effective and powerful)
U R SoDEAD ( not around much but, woot)
Dar or KJ ( awesome team players)
MysteryMan ( in a 'man on man' defence there is no one better)
MajorPain ( group leader... With the right complementing players and amount of booze this guy wows folks)
MaxCR ( streaky but makes um count)
Dj_breaka / supra ( BMers that made the switch to defenceive scrum players of the year)

Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 12:23:12 AM

We might not even advance because we can't schedule the match with our European opponents who are not willing to compromise much with their schedules.

Pff, I shouldn't comment that at all and I won't, because you're either don't want to understand or you just can't understand.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 2:05:15 AM

@DEEJ o ty Deej.I like ur style 2. :P

Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 11:26:24 AM

Has anyone mentioned Nappy?
He's def. Incoming.

Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 11:29:23 AM

@Corey
Thanks for the props! Much appreciated! Oh and FU too! :)

@Vash
Thanks! You guys (Dar, Vash and George) were an awesome team that smoked our butts 13-6 in game one! We were shellshocked and had to regroup and fast!!! We knew if we didn't jell and fast as a team that we would be finished in 5 minutes! By the way, Vash is an elite scrummer folks. His other most popular alias is Trigun.

@Triv
I understand how difficult it is to schedule a time that works for both sides. Didn't mean to sound so insensitive. Hope we can work it out.

Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 7:56:05 PM

Inmates are running the asylum.

Where's stinky?
Where's TG?
Where's anything other than the goofy posts out there?

STOP THE MADNESS!
