Because a "kick" means they just have to take their army symbol out of their name for the time period, then they are allowed to put it back in. Pretty lame if you ask me.
Basically, clumsy mistake made by certain people.
I don't see how kicks really affect someone, but bans do the job

Something has troubled and disturbed me. So I thought about it X/ and I can't seem to come up with the answer. What is the difference between a kick and a ban? For example, on army threads, "Cussing: 3 week kick" or on a different army thread, "Cussing: 3 week ban". ??????? What's the difference???? This has just poped up in my head. Think about it.....what is the difference?
