Forums Index >> General >> TT Players list now on Wikipedia!

Page : 1 : <2>

The official Wikipedia listing for ThinkTanks (The Game) now includes a link to the ThinkTanks Player list I've compiled from the PTT membership page, emails from you guys as well as from two years of playing. This is simply a listing of every player who is currently playing TT or has played the game in the past for a significant amount of time. Sorry, no Demo's or fly-by-night noobs or aliases will be listed (or kept).

Note: This is NOT another one of those Paisano player rankings!!! This is just a list of players to document a part of TT History.

Update News: 401 Players now listed! (Last updated on 3/15/2006)
***Removed internal links to the lists for Players, aliases, and armies.***

Special Thanks: To DJWings for creating the wikipedia entry and for adding a much needed table of contents!
Thanks also to Tally Ho and Racer445 for all the edits they have made to improve the wikipedia entry!

***Completed major update***
There are 387 players listed now, including all you battlemoders. :)

Added links to PTT member profiles where each of you are responsible for maintaining all contact information such as email addresses, instant messenger names, personal websites, etc. Etc.

Added link to Player Aliases Index to cross reference player names

Added link to Player Photo Album but need someone else to host this feature. Someone with plenty of bandwidth and disk space. Killibraincells? Can we link to your album instead?

Question about Armies....

Do we want a simple listing of all armies (current and defunct)?

I need more information if we do. Can you help?
Here's what we need:

TT Armies

ABBRVNameFounderCommander 2nd Commander Official Website
SA
UF
FU
ST
ATF

Can you look at the player list on wikepedia and email me about any names that you know are actually aliases for other names already on the list? I have suspicions about some of them... For example rumor has it that MESS is BABA.

Also, is Fred the same as FreDrick?
Is Leech really Leechy?
thanks

Paisano I have a huge list of clans with short names, full names, and their leaders that I made long ago. If you search through the Armies Forum, you should find the Ultimate List of Clans, which I believe has some 70 armies on it. But I have not updated it in quite sometime. It did have a n active sign by the ones that were active.

I just wanted to say Pai, that I have analyzed at least 105 of the 387 players are Retired, and a few are one of those occasional players. I will send you a modified list to your email soon, Pai.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.

@Triv
Great work! Thanks!

Saturday, March 04, 2006 at 6:27:34 PM

Ok, thanks to AncientOne and Trivox, the list is far more accurate and up to date.
We now have over 400 players listed! Their status has also been updated to reflect all retired players.

Sunday, March 05, 2006 at 4:30:34 PM

What about adding the dates started playing and ended?
For example,
Bolo November 2003 to present
FoulPlay APRIL 2003 to APRIL 2004
etc. Etc.

Tuesday, March 07, 2006 at 7:39:48 AM

Uh...why is my name retired on the list?

It just needs to be updated since I got promoted to major, so my new name is this:

Spirit (VT)maj

:)

See? I'll definitely make a Wikipedia stub in my spare time so people can edit it.

Wednesday, March 08, 2006 at 2:01:17 PM

@ Paisano:

Thanks lol. Also If ur looking at the ptt members list and you see a playername of "spirit" dont add that to ur list because that was me when I first registered on ptt. I only have 2 accounts because for some stupid reason I didn't realize I could update my profile.

Anyways thanks and great job with all of this !

:)

@Spirit

@DJ
Great work on the Wikipedia entry! The new Table of contents sure makes a difference!
Also like the new link to all armies thread on PTT.

I am thinking about moving my massive list of TT Players from my website to here on PTT.
This way others can keep it updated once I do eventually retire.

Good job dj that is exactly what I was mumbling about before.

Oh and I prefer Trivox IBotI :)

Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 5:46:29 AM

I'm pretty sure Hanksta isn't retired from TT, just PTT. He recentley told me he was a TT junky that would never quit, as he was whooping my butt at indy scrum.

Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 7:15:07 AM

Thanks, I just thought it needed a little maintainence.

Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 12:07:30 PM

@ Paisano: thanks fer updating my name :)

Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:34:48 PM

Where am I?

Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 1:46:38 PM

Ok now im hurt. :'(
you still havent added me.

Thursday, March 09, 2006 at 9:10:12 PM

Add yourself on the Wiki list, then! That's why I put it there- anyone can edit it and add themselves. :)

Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:04:09 AM

@Dj
The link still points to my website. Where is the stub?

@Pdiddy
Sorry about that. This is why we're trying to make the list self-editing so that players can add/edit their own names.
I just wanted to get the ball rolling and document as many names as possible (broke 400!).

Friday, March 10, 2006 at 4:20:09 AM

Where it says it's on Wikipedia. Do you think I'd really put it under "External links"?

Friday, March 10, 2006 at 12:21:22 PM

@Dj
lol..hey...ya never know... ;)

By the way, we'll need to keep an eye open on the site now that so many more people will be "editors"... Yikes.
Stay tuned for abuse... It shall come.

Great work by the way!

***Added new link to TT Army List on PTT***
***AncientOne has updated the list that now includes 67 armies!***

By the way, the old and new SA and UF armies have been separated on the list to reflect the different regimes, but I think they should each have just one listing. Why break-up their long history and tradition just because of the change in leadership and mission? Lonewolf has agreed to merge the old and new UF listing into one. We are going to ask CADC and DrSawbones what they think next.

Thanks!

Well, it doesn't look good for the new pages with lists we've added to wikipedia for players, aliases and armies.
They (so-called wikipedians who spend their life searching for pages to delete/edit) want to delete these new pages because they called it gamecruft...which means it is information that only diehard fans of the game would ever read.
No KIDDING!!!! DUH!!!!
Sheesh.

Anyway, this means the lists will die once I retire from the game. Unless -z- and PTT decide to maintain them.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 8:18:49 AM

Well, I can put the player and alias list on my webpage if you leave. People need only send me an email.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 6:06:18 PM

Don't retire. Problem solved.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 6:23:22 PM

I will leave everything I have about TT on the TTFans website and yahoo club. I've given the admin password and login ID to CADC as a backup. Might do the same with another youngster who plans to stick around a long time.

Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 7:50:37 PM

Pai--I know this sounds stupid, but could you please go to the MadMatinee Map Submission thread and post a number one through ten? The captains are doing this to determine who gets first draft pick.
