Hey all... I have been experiencing problems with my mouse on TT. When I join an independent server my mouse gets continously worse as the games go on to the point where I cannot shoot at all. Lag has something to do with it and I wish I could be more specific. I have been alternating three mouses (one is a new optical which worked great for about a month) and now am back with the Hewlet Packard mouse which came with my system that is 4yrs old. HP 500 which cost $1000. Any suggestions? Thanks for any replies, KKB :)

Is your computer getting to hot as you play? Do you plug the mouse in the PS2 port (mouse port, noramly next to the keyboard port), or do you use usb mouse? If using one, then try using the other. If not the things 4 years old, get a new one (knowing you I would suggest a mac) or install linux on it.

I've gone through 4 or 5 mice trying to find one that doesn't jump around on me. Started with the standard Apple one button puck. Tried a couple different cordless models. Currently using a corded Logitech mouse. All have been optical. I think my biggest problem with the opticals has been the cursor jumping to the corner of the screen at random times during the game. I replaced my mouse pad with a sheet of white paper and that has helped. The cursor still jumps but not nearly as often. I know lag has a lot to do with some of my other complaints (fire rate, firing when I click, etc.). So I just have to live with those issues.

A new computer or least a new graphics card could help. Someone will eventually post about their happiness with trackballs. If you can survive the learning curve of the trackball, that might be the way to go.

Thanks for your alls concern. I tried the USP port for the mouse as Nuts suggested and that didnt work. BC suggested cleaning the video card via compressed air cleaning which is a temporary fix. Guess I need a new video card.

Nuts, MJ , and Dazzle, thank you so much.

NUTS, DOES THE CAPS LOCK HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT? %)
