Hey Racer,
I have comcast, and have no problem hosting. I don't usually keep mine up 24/7, but that is not because of comcast. I am not aware that this is against any policy. Just be sure you have a router set up with port forwarding and you should be all set.

I read this somewhere:
They care more about bandwidth than what their users are doing. If you use up a ton of bandwidth then they will most likely flag you and suspend your account.
And from their policy:
You may not run programs, equipment, or servers from the Premises that provide network content or any other services to anyone outside of your Premises LAN (Local Area Network), also commonly referred to as public services or servers. Examples of prohibited services and servers include, but are not limited to, e-mail, Web hosting, file sharing, and proxy services and servers;
I'm not sure what to do.
The only thing that I can think of that might take a bit more bandwith than usual would be to completely dounload those maps like MM's and stuff, but there's the option to zip them directly, so that shouldn't be a problem :)
The connection itself shouldn't take much bandwith I don't think B)

You will be sharing your connection with your dad, so I would be concerned that whenever he sends a big e-mail or downloads something, it will affect your TT server. But your server should not interfere with his normal business IMO.
Tell your dad that TT works by sending small packets of data very quickly, but does NOT involve the transfer of large files. So it is completely within the intent of the Comcast policy.
I run almost 24/7 with comcast and have never had a problem with them.

Hey all,
I'm trying to get my folks to set up a 24/7 dedicated TT server, but my dad said that Comcast does not allow you to run any kind of server or have anyone else connect to you outside of your own home network. Now I have hosted dedicated servers in the past and I have had no problems with them, and I know others host with Comcast. So, what should I do?
Thanks folks.
