I recently made my first skin (with some, ok alot of help) however when I loaded it into the correct spot (tank04 right?) and started the game it appeared as a grey tank. Can someone tell me why this is happening and how you fix it? :S

Tank04?? Was it a light? Or what type??

Light=tank01.jpg
medium=tank02.jpg
Heavy=tank03.jpg
Ufo (Both types -Boss and Baby-)=tank04

Ok, When your skin doesn't show, It has nothing to do with ^ (well, if you make it a tank name that deosn'r exist, it does). You need to do 3 steps: Import it back into your editor. This means you cannot just click on it to open it. You must drag it into the palet.
Next, you need to make sure your palet size is exactly 512 pixels by 512 pixels. Now, you need to resave it as tank01-4 (whichever tank you are doing according to ^) and then babam! It should work.

Also, make sure you are putting the skin in the shapes folder in your content directory.

Don't forget to back up any skin also or you will loose them befiore you go to renaming it ! B)

But if you loose your old skin, DL the demo, and get the skins from there, ;)

I was talking about any skins in General.
I remember when I first started to mess with my tank skins,
_{(LONEWOLF feels very old now looking back that far)} :S

I lost some really cool skins cause I forgot to name the skin to something else.
Those skins can not be found any more or made due to the skinners are no longer around :[

My Tank folder alone right now is 175 MB :P

Ok, I started skining and I have the same problem...but ^^^^ is was too confusing! :S Can someone explain in a less (no offense) nerdy way? :o

then go to memebers
then find any one of these 3 people
Dazzle
Deja Vu
DrSawbones
click on their names
it will take you to thier profile
Now scroll down near the bottom
and you will see thier email addy's and other ways to contact them.

I do collect skins though.
Last count last month,
I was up over 978 different skins.
Thats not count all thier parts I have.
Just in my Treads folder alone I have over 50 or 60 sets of treads :P

OK, I just (in awe) read your instructions (after about 20 times) and UNDERSTOOD IT!!! But, I have a quick Q, wheres the palet?

All pgg is saying is to resize the image to 512x512.

I don't know if that makes it more or less complicated for you.
