USRobotics Super Turbo w/ speed boost goes 108bps
Never gave me a lick of trouble
I'm going to go wireless. I have a g4 Mac and an g4 ibook. Should I pony up for Apple's Airport Express or just get a generic router? Any advice appreciated!
Jacques, I have the exact same machines and also have a Linksys router. I never even notice it's there and have never had to reset it. I'm not sure it would matter one way or the other in regards to getting Airport Express or a generic router.
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.
Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.
The best router for me was the one on sale when I was ready to buy. Here's a site with more information than you need: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/
@ Jacques
Using the Airport extreme base-station with 2 ibooks and 1 iMac.
Likes:
* Not ugly.
* Reliable, flexible and works well with Mac software (duh).
* Can use both ethernet and wireless at same time.
* Convenient USB port for sharing a plugged in printer.
Dislikes:
* Kinda spendy.
* Have to unplug the USB cable and jack into the iMac with the hardwire to use Epson's printer utility. (Seldom need though. Probably Epson is not going the extra mile with a low end printer to make it "just work.")
FWI, also thinking about grabbing an Airport Express to share iTunes on the home stereo. Don't see how a guy could have to many of those suckers :)
