Dont get it but j and hanky (and others) cannot post on the PTT forums. They can only read. I myself can read and post but after several page loads I cannot even view the site(cant ping PTT either)!!! Wait several hours I can view and post a few more(and ping)... What gives??? Also z ur email z@planetthinktanks.com doesnt work....

@Those who can't post: First thing to check, make sure you are still logged in. If it says "Log In" in the buttons on the left at the bottom of the Community section, then you aren't logged in, which would prevent you from posting. If it currently says "Log Out," then you should be able to post.

When you log in, it's not a bad idea to click "Remember Me" so you don't have to log back in all the time. Though you may still get logged back out if you delete your cookies, or have a cookie blocker.

Also, if you haven't already, I'd recommend changing your password (in your Profile) to something easy to remember, so when logging in you don't have to consult the original email you were sent with your password in it. :P

@-z-: how about adding a little "If you would like to post, log in here" type of message & link at the bottom of the threads for people who aren't logged in?

As for the recent bout with a really slow server, -z- mentioned something about problems after doing a security update. :[

The first time I tried to log-in when I registered on PTT, I kept getting errors. I also couldn't log-in on other websites (eg. Friends Reunited). It turned out that I'd been messing with the security settings within Internet Options and had blocked third party cookies. When I put it back to the original settings, it was OK.

Getting better hopefully, and still more work being done.

There may well be periods where connections are slow etc, but I am working on getting the whole site running nice and smoothly. Please bear with me, there are only so many hours in the day.
