Here it is! I think it looks cool doesn't it? Better than the last one...

Cool isn't it? Any way I could improve on it?

Here's the layout itself,bit messy,but it's the best I could do.

Looks good. The first way I can see to improve it is to add some shadows, hilites, or lines to it. Try to differentiate the panels so that when we're looking at the tank in motion, we see the shape of the tank, not just a shapeless blob.

How would magma have shadows?

Your right,it looks like it was pieced together,I don't know how to fix that.... Hot spots maybe?

It would still have shadows - not only does it generate it's own light, but it would reflect a varying amount of sunlight based on it's temperature and how directly the sun shone on it. And even if it doesn't, the eye will be able to better focus on the object if it can see edges. Our eyes are drawn to the differences in the image - so what stands out the most in the view you posted isn't the magma - it's the treads and gun barrels. What I think you need to do is differentiate the facets more so that we can see the differences easily. One thing you could do is change it so that the magma flows in different directions depending on where on the tank it is.

So have the magma flow in one direction? Dang that's gonna take a loooonnnnggg time.

Will you rate it please?

Yah, aiming things so that they look consistent is tough - tougher than it looks.

I like it. I'd give it a 3 out of 5.

You'd have to really understand were all of the parts go,I only know where a few go...

It goes pretty good with the Frantic terrain. Try it!

If you haven't downloaded the Skin Viewer 0.1 from the tools section, I would advise doing so. It makes trying things out a LOT easier.

I did ,but everytime I load the skin,it gives me the normal one.

Okay, you probably don't have it set up quite right.

I will assume that your skin editing setup is somewhat similar to mine, and go from there.

I have a different folder for each skin set. These are located under the Skinviewer folder, in the gamedata ank folder (I think that's right). I have the 'base' skins in a folder there as well.

When you load a skin in the Skinviewer, it will ask you what dts file you want to load - therefore you will have to have the tank01.dts file in the same folder as your skin <- this is probably what you're missing.

Ah,I see.

Thanks!

"gamedata ank"?

That's what I get for not double-checking my post. Game (slash) data (slash) tank folder
