Normally, I think of forks as a part of Unix life, but this is pushing it...
IceWeasel Broswer
IceWeasel on Wikipedia
As far as I can tell, IceWeasel is just a 100%-open-source version of FireFox with a different name because the people at Debian Linux refused to use FFX's logo (so does Ubuntu). Now I know how muslims must feel to have religious fanatics giving them a bad name (JUST A METAPHOR, NOT implying anything). Slogan idea: "The browser, renamed"...
Long-time Linux FFX users, don't panic. Only the real freedom-freaks like Debian and Slackware will be cutting it from their distros. The big names like PCLinuxOS and Mandriva will probably keep your favorite pet fox. Ubuntu, I'm not so sure about- ever notice that they refuse to give out 3D drivers and MP3 codecs?
Speaking of FireFox variations (good ones, this time), I'm using SwiftFox 1.5.0.7 now, and it is FAST. Not to mention that my system's so slow (no reboots in a few days) that the window manager's slowing down. Not SFX. Cool logo, too.
EDIT: I'm taking the "GNU" out of my name, since apparently, FFX isn't GNU enough for some people (my "version" is FireFox 2 Beta's revision number).

I have the actual book. Wasn't the Wikipedia quote messed-up? Same idea... But I doubt these weasels'll be nibbling FFX to death.
