Here in Australia Manhunt was recently banned due to its so-called "extreme and violent" content - http://news.gamewinners.com/index.php/news/manhunt_banned_in_australia . I was able to buy a copy for PC before it was taken of the shelves. I am curious to know if there is a more violent game in the market place???

I am curious is this as violent as they come or is there something more sinister in the marketplace that I am not aware of???

Carmageddon is a 3D driving game from a few years back. You have to run over people to get points and playing time. They scream out "NOOO" as you hit them and then if you turn around and run over their entrails you hear "squish squish".

It was amusing at first but once the novelty wore off it was down-right sick. They had to change the people to already dead zombies to sell the game in the UK. The title is ironic because if there were such a thing as karma this game would be pure bad.

I've not seen this Manhunt game, so I can't say for sure, but the most graphically violent game I've ever played was Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix.

The enemy characters are modeled in a way that body parts can easily get blown off by things like your shotgun and other weapons. Limbs, heads, whatever. It's relatively gruesome and bloody.

Resident Evil is the most disturbing game that I have ever played. It really got under my skin. I quit playing that game and never went back.

Carmageddon was admittedly sick, but it was by far one of the funniest games that I have ever played. When I worked at Apple, we were testing our support for the 3dfx card and the only (3dfx) game on the Mac at that time was Carmageddon. We networked and played until all hours of the night. Somehow the novelty never wore off for us... It just kept being incredibly funny... I especially liked the "Style Points" when you squished someone in an interesting way, you got extra points. Setting aside the killing, the motion dynamics were among the best ever on a Mac. That car was fantastic to drive.

Soldier of Fortune is one of the best FPS games on the Mac, but I have to agree that there is something disturbing about shooting a bad guy and watching his head blow apart (complete with exposed bone and yucky innards). But even more disturbing than being able to continue to blow apart a dead guy (in a very gruesome way), was the fact that I ACTUALLY DID enjoy shooting the heck out of someone who gotten the best of me up to that point. I remember one night, I came away from a particularly gruesome gaming session where I basically bludgeoned the dead because I was frustrated that I had to keep starting over the level.... After that night, I felt really creepy. Games like this make you question yourself.

Silent Hill series always scares the hell out of me. The best gore game I think is Painkiller, can also be played online.

Just wait till the game Narc comes out. You shoot up smack, snort coke, drop acid, and kill people at the same time. Lol these poor kids.

Carmageddon is a f word legend. Thought I couldn't really call it a "violent" game. Just fun racing againts computer oppenents and eliminating them by any means necassery. Plus killing few incodent pedesterian while racing.

You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
