You type well with just one hand!
What a day!
@DM
lol.. That didn't long for you to crawl out from under that rock you live under.
What a day! ;)
P.s. Yeah, I had a couple of hot babes in my post but it wasn't JUST about that, dateman.
I mentioned a could of dudes too and I ain't from brokeback mountain!
Now if I had posted this link then maybe your reply would make more sense!

I wish I knew how to quit you paisty!
The wife and I are idol fans too.
The gray-haired guy is hard to watch - good babes this season.
Loved the news on the twins.
What a day!
^ And she has a twin?
Where's my heart medicine? :S
Sorry, the twins were obnoxious guys.
What a day!
I hope I don't disappoint you Pai but I for one don't watch that show. I am a deviant though I watch Survivor and Lost.
@Dataman
LMFAO! I nearly did a spit-take when I read your "I can't quit you" line from Brokeback Mountain!!!
Very funny stuff dude. For those who will wonder how we know this line, I heard it in the trailer I had no control over watching...can't speak for Dateman and how he knew the line. Don't ask, Don't tell? Doh!!!
@Delta
hey no problemmo. I used to love Survivor and watched the first several seasons religiously but not anymore.
I heard LOST is a great show but I didn't get into it because it reminded me too much of Survivor...bunch of people stuck on an island only this time it's ALL fake and not real at all. Ironically, they say LOST might be more realistic than Survivor..lol.
@Napalm
The scary part is that this one is the "Ugly" one!!! Yikes!!!
Seriously, the twin is actually there supporting her sister and couldn't perform due to some fluke injury.

I'm with ya pai...
I do hope Kelly wins.. For a good cause and all.. Lives with on-the-string of dying grampa... Father in jail... Hott as hell...
I watch this show too. But not most the time just on RARE occasions
By the way.. Have you ever heard of Chris Daughtry, paisano?
@Tanky
No I hadn't until this season's show. I like him a lot and think he could make a run to the final four for sure.
He could be this year's Bo Bice...the rocker dude who tries to win the title. He's kind of a pro though like Taylor Hicks, meaning they've been performing for money for years. Just no contract. Ironically, I didn't know until this year that you could actually have recorded and had a contract and still be on American Idol as long as the contract was no longer active. Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice actually had contracts with record labels long before AI. There is another controvery right now with one of the 24 contestants, the guy named Sway...they alledge he has a recording deal over seas somewhere and some want him kicked off for that.
Becky's hot. Homophobes cold.
I can't believe this. Your talking about the worst part of the whole show. Who cares who gets the Idol signer tag(c) to their forehead. The beginning is the real thing, if you watch you watch that. What could be funnier than see these suckers trying to sing when they can't? The best part is when the judges can't control their laughter anymore and put eg a paper in front of their face. American Idol is the most funniest program I have seen recently. Always guaranteed ongoing laugh bursts. Btw, Simon Cowell's comments rocks eg (freely translated )"I'm not being rude..., but that's was the worst I have heard." XD
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
Well, the oddsmakers are betting on Ace Young to win it all.
Online gambling sites have deemed Ace Young the favorite to win the fifth season of American Idol that begins its semifinals tonight.
Young, a 25-year-old who grew up in Boulder, CO and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA, was installed as a 7-2 favorite to win American Idol 5 when Pinnacle Sports first began accepting wagering on who will emerge as the show's eventual winner on Friday. "This marks the first time that any sportsbook has offered betting on who'll win American Idol this early in the show," stated Pinnacle Sports representative Simon Noble.
Trailing just behind Young were two of American Idol 5's female semifinalists -- Katharine McPhee and Paris Bennett, who were listed at 4-1 and 5-1 odds respectively. Other semifinalists favorited to win American Idol's fifth season crown include Chris Daughtry (8-1), Kellie Pickler (8-1), Taylor Hicks (10-1) and Lisa Tucker (11-1).
The odds for the rest of the twenty-four semifinalists tailed off sharply after Tucker, with Heather Cox (22-1), Will Makar (24-1), Stevie Scott (27-1), Jose "Sway" Penala (29-1), Patrick Hall (31-1), Becky O'Donohue (45-1) and Mandisa Hundley (47-1) placing ahead of 65-1 longshots Ayla Brown, Bobby Bennett, Brenna Gethers, Bucky Covington, David Radford, Elliott Yamin, Gedeon McKinney, Kevin Covias, Kinnik Sky, and Melissa McGhee.
In addition to Pinnacle, numerous other wagering websites have installed Young as American Idol 5's favorite, with Bennet and McPhee also trailing close behind.The semifinals will start with the 12 women singers. The guys follow on Wednesday and two from each group will get the boot on Thursday.
***Review of the best performances from last night's Top 12 Girls***
Well, after watching the final 12 girls perform last night I've changed my mind (again) about who will win the whole competition. As much as I like Kellie Pickler, I have to say that she will be very fortunate to make the final 6 girls (final 12 over all group that will tour the country).
Here are the best 6 girls ranked from best to worst.
Katherine McPhee: The best singer/performer of the night. Her mom is a vocal coach and it shows!
I am picking her to make final Two with Ace the Face Young.
Paris Bennett: Only 17 and incredibly seasoned voice and performer! She can sing Judy Halliday too!
Lisa Tucker: Only 16!!!! Another natural star! Will go far.
Kellie Pickler: Beautiful, very likable, good voice, but very nervous performer and not experienced.
Her voice cracks and she does not have smoothe moves while performing like the above three.
Raw talent that will become a big country star someday. Mark my words!
mandisa: Very big voice to match her girth. Sadly, her weight will prevent her from going all the way.
Reminds me too much of the weather girls. Still, good representation for big gals!
Ayla: The dyke basketball player daughter of Senator can actually sing well and works hard.
Still, won't go too far.
Those are the top 6. The bottom 6 were:
Stevie Scott was the worst.
Heather Cox was 2nd worst. Both should go on Thursday.
Brenna Gathers was 3rd worst.
Kannik Sky is a good singer but 28 and not magical like the top 3 girls.
Melissa McGhee is a very good singer but doesn't have the star factor.
Becky O'Donahue was OK... Just ok.. But wonderful to look at.
The guys have their cut out for them tonight!
I predict Ace, Taylor and Chris to shine.
@CB & Rabban
I agree... Paris could win it all. It's going to be great fun watching the diva's go at it!!!
Ace is a diva too from all appearances. Heh heh
The men performed last night. Here were my favorites.
The best performer was Elliot Yamin (Simon even went as far as to say he was the best male vocalist in the whole 5 seasons of the show!)! Still, he does not have the Star quality, the look, that America will go for.
Ace Young did his best George Michael impression with Father Figure. Excellent X-factor/Star quality and good enough vocals.
Taylor Hicks did not disappoint. Sang Elton's Levon very well!
The rocker dude Chris Dougherty waled on Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive.
The rest were mediocre and horrific. The worst being Bobby "Big Boy" Bennett who did Copa Cabana!!! Ouch!
Patrick Hall should pack his bags with Bennett.
Well, I agree with ALL of Paisty's picks!
We were especially wowed by Katherine McPhee and Lisa Tucker - I just heard that Becky O'Donahue and her sister are featured on the Maxim magazine web site (they won't have any trouble at all with their careers after this!).
I continue to be haunted by "Copa boy" Bobby Bennett - hopefully there will be good news tonight unless the sympathy votes kick in.
What a day!
@Date man
Wow, getting the date man to agree with the Pai man is like getting a compliment from Simon!!!
Indeed, what a day!!!
Hey, that was hilarious... Being haunted by copa boy...lol. My wife and I sat there with our mouths open as we watched him and looked at each other in disbelief wondering how in the world this guy made the final 24!
This was the first time he was actually shown performing on TV and hopefully the last!
Becky, the hot twin on American Idol, will not win but she's already cashing in with her sister.
KA-CHING!!!!
Becky and Kelly - who cares if they can sing! I'd buy the cd just to look at their pictures!
Heh.
"They were athletes in college, then models, and now they're vocalists," Burchette said. "We look forward to their political careers."
I think that the dude singing "This Thing I call Love" was pretty good.
Taylor is a little pshyco with a passion.
Daughtry did an excellent Job.
The nerds will be voting for that skinny guy in glasses.
The final top 10 women sing tonight. Who will shine and who will suck?
My hunch is that Heather Cox and Brenna will be the next to get the boot on Thursday results show.
Kinnik Sky might go instead of Brenna though. People seem to like the sassy trashy Brenna who is mostly attitude over talent.
Personally, I dont find the good part of the show in "who wins". I only watch at the beginning of the "season" just to see those idiots that think they can sing, lol :P
Only lethal on days that end with "Y"
@Sersh
I also enjoy the bad singers too. I really like watching all those poor lost souls who think they are going to fulfill their dream only to get torn a new one by Simon. Ouch!!! It's like a car wreck... You can't not watch!
Ayla is my favorite female singer. I havent heard the dudes yet.
Becky is hot as hell but cant sing worth a shit
B
@Bolo
Ayla gave one of the best performances last night. So did my favorite Kellie Pickler. I was surprised by how poor the ladies performed over-all. Even the usual superstars were kind of flat, Paris sang the Wind Beneath My Wings (ugh!) and Lisa did another old song. My other favorite Katherine McPhee was ok, but not great as usual. Weird night. I think the dudes will be better tonight.
Is it too late to vote for Becky?
@Fru Fru...er FoFo
Yup...you're a day late and a buck short...
... I think its going to be the one what can sing the best and look the best!
goy gahyuck gahyuck
The top 10 men performed tonight and the clear winners were:
Chris the rocker dude who blew the house down with his rendition of Fuel's hemorrhage!! By far the hardest rock song ever done on AI!!!
Elliot Yamin was brilliant with a Stevie Wonder song
Taylor Hicks was good with EASY by the commodores.
Ace struggled with his pop tune.
Gideon actually did great with "A change is gonna come"
Bucky did a good garth song
The worst were:
David the crooner
Will the Peter Brady
Kevin the geek
Oh no the thread that will not go away!!!
Update... The final 8 ladies performed last night. The big gal Mandisa did the best job by far with the cutie pie Katherine McPhee second best. Here's the breakdown:
1) Mandisa
2) Katherine
3) Kellie
4) Lisa
5) Paris
6) Ayla
7) Melissa(leaving Thursday)
8) Kinnick (leaving Thursday)
We all know that America loved Reuben "Sandwich" Stoddard when he became American Idol, but can an over-sized gal become American Idol? There has always been a double-standard at AI, starting with the malicious Simon and then ultimately with all of us viewers and voters! The largest female performer to ever make the top 12 might have been that Kimberly Cauldwell (or was it Locke?) I can never remember which one. In any event, it wasn't the hot blonde Kimberly that year but the African American one who has gone on to record a CD or two (country even!).
Thus, if Mandisa can go all the way and win it all, then America will prove once and for all that we are not fat phobic anymore! She is clearly the best singer in the show. However, is this really about the best singer or best performer? Does that include image? If so, then how do you explain Reuben? Also, Fantasia was rather hard on the eyes too if you ask me and quite frankly not that great a singer in my book. Quite annoying if you ask me.
Last edited: Wednesday, March 08, 2006 at 5:13:06 AM
Ace had a really tough song and was the only dude I thought shined tonight
Mandisa is the only woman left with a killer voice. She is the best singer I think.
That little blond cutie is hooot
B
@Bolo
Agree with your picks. Ace did a bang up job with that falsetto, but I still prefer Chris the rocker dude who kicked it again last night. Taylor Hicks was fun as always as he did "taking to the streets". I think the two going tonight will be Kevin Chicken Little and Will "Peter Brady" Makar. Gideon might go instead of Chicken little but we will see.
The little blonde is Kellie Pickler who I picked when I started this thread, but I don't know if she has the chops to go all the way. I think Katherine has all around voice and best trained, Mandisa just has the loudest biggest voice. Paris can bring it too but picks bad songs.
AI5 has reached the Final 12 now....6 men and 6 women. I picked 11 of the 12 correctly way back when it was the final 24. I missed out on Ayla, who was edged out by Melissa (disagree with the pick but oh well).
Do you think you can pick the winner? Want a chance to win some prizes?
Go to the new Fantasy American Idol game
!
It's like the NCAA March Madness.
Look for Melissa to get the axe this week.
Melissa needs to go although she looked good dressed up.
Id say chris and katherine shined. Katherine would have looked much hotter if she had on a dress instead of a big pillowcase with boobs cut out...and why was paula wearing a slip underneath her outfit?? Wtf
B
And the blond is sooooo cute but if I was blind like stevie id ax her next cause she cant sing that well.
B
@Bolo
Right on. Chris and Katherine were the best by far. And you're right about the hot blonde, Kellie Pickler.
She has the look and she's very likable (dumb as a stump though), but she does not always sing well.
She was awful last night. Melissa or Kevin might be going home, lucky for Kellie.
Taylor Hicks was also amazing last night. Ace the Face is losing points every week.
Paris, Mandisa, Lisa and Elliot were all good but not great. Bucky was ok.
Ace (the face) isn't weathering the long term...
Taylor Hicks was awesome last night as well as Katherine (despite the "granny dress"). Mandisa was very good too - she has good moves despite her heft.
Kelly needs to go as well as Kevin but I think his novelty will continue for a few weeks - they need to vote him off and then have him just stick around and do interviews and stupid stuff.
What a day!
@DateMan
lol...granny dress. What is up with her taste in clothes? She started that whole false rumor about her being pregnant because she wore a hideous blouse that made her look prego a couple weeks ago!!! She needs to let them dress her.
As for Kellie, she cleaned up real nice but couldn't sing.
Yes, Kellie did LOOK amazing.
I was glad that we didn't have to hear Kevin sing "My Cherie Amour"!
What a day!
@Sam I Am
No American Idol. No Survivor. No 24. No police, medical, or legal dramas. No airplane-crashed-on-a-remote-island dramas. Nada. Read a book, it's better for you. Or play TT if you must.
Mag
@Mag
Hey we all have guilty pleasures. I don't watch any of those other things you mentioned. Two vices are TT and AI.
As I predicted, Melissa was sent home. She wasn't the worst but the least popular. Chicken Little Kevin wasn't even in the bottom three which was a sham!!! Ace the face was in the bottom!!! So was Lisa, both shocking.
Page : <1> : 2
Ok, Ok, I will confess that I watch American Idol! It is a guilty pleasure that I know many of you share so don't call me a nancy-boy, ok? I've talked about this with many of you in chat. Don't worry, I won't throw any of you under the bus (ok, Bolo?). :)
Anyway, they cut the field down to the final 24 .
Great, more lists from Paisano! ;) Hey, I thought since my list of great scrummers went over so well why not share one about American Idol? (/ end sarcasm here).
In any event, my favorite performer is Kellie Pickler ! She is a 19-year old blomb bomshell who can actually sing! The only thing going against her is that she might be too similar to last year's winner, another hot blonde country girl, Carrie Underwood (I think Pickler is hotter and sings better too). Here's a picture of Kellie which doesn't do her justice. Her profile has a video clip.
The biggest threat to Pickler is a dude named Ace Young . He can wale and has the look they are searching for (Paula wants to tutor him, heh heh).
Personally, I think the best male singer is actually Taylor Hicks who looks like he's in his 40s because of his gray hair but he's only 29. He sounds and performs just like Ray Charles!!! It's uncanny! He actually has a CD out (self produced most likely). Here's a song he wrote himself called Hell of a Day . The song is at the bottom of that page along with two others.
The best female singer is a girl from my state of Georgia named Paris Bennett whose grandmother is Ann Nesby who was part of the legendary group called SOUNDS OF BLACKNESS. She might go far and could win but she doesn't have the whole package like Kellie. However, Fantasia overcame her appearance to win it all in AI 3. So did the large Rubin Stoddard in AI 2.
Here's a picture of the best looking girl on the show, Becky.
She can sing but her looks got her to the final 24 mostly.
So, who else is secure enough with his manhood to admit he watches American Idol?
(are those crickets I hear in the background?)
gulp...ok then... How about those Steelers?!!!
