Hey 56k, the server list is different for the PC and XBox version right?
@Pedro: There are 7 tanks. Old and new light, old and new medium and old and new heavy, plus the unlockable UFO.
@Tally: I'll see what I can dig up. :)
@Art: yes.
I wish I had a Xbox... GJ BT!
Oh just one thing, we cant MOD on the Xbox (nor script) right...?

The news item says "For anyone who has played ThinkTanks before on Windows, OS X, or Linux, this ThinkTanks on Xbox Live Arcade is completely different. Not only has the controls and aiming been rewritten, but there are new gameplay options as well."
What does Xbox version offer besides new tanks?
Will Xbox players compete against us normal players?

@Paisano
Well, they added some lock on features... I think thnere are new maps... And maybe other features... And about us playing with them, nope, different server lists, (always same master server tough - one goes down, and we cant play in both)
Will this be comming out for the PC, like Halo did?
I imagine it will be a year before it would ever happen.
Congrats!
Well done!
(oh and welcome back Lagger, as I hadn't seen you since you returned)
So no cross pollination between us crusty old gamers and these new upstarts?
Thats not even technically possible?
Ahem, then back to the $19.99 question.... Will any energy now be diverted to a TT update?
Regardless,
maveltov BT!
Baba
ROFL!
ESRB Rating: E10+ with Mild Violence
Those poor brains... :S
ANYWAY, W00T!!! Fantastic job, guys! I don't have an Xbox, but I may now just have to switch my upcoming gamecube purchase to a Xbox. XD
I seconded the baba notions.
Screw this. Im already paying for internet. Yall wont see me there. Sorry
Cloud
Nice work fellas! Congrats on getting it done. I don't have an XBox, and I'm not about to get one anytime this century, but if I did, I'd be checkin' it out right about now.
Like Baba, I have to ask what this now means for all us original TT'ers anxiously awaiting an update. Any tidbits would be greatly appreciated.

What does Xbox version offer besides new tanks?
The main thing is the auto locking reticle. It definitely changes the feel of play. Running strategically to break the lock becomes more crucial. And the blue maps have received a makeover. The play types are still Battlemode, Scrum and Arcade.
Then there's voice chat, friends list, sending game invites to friends, etc, all those xbox live features.
So no cross pollination between us crusty old gamers and these new upstarts? Thats not even technically possible?
Nope. The 2 versions aren't compatible for playing together. Also Microsoft's Live network handles all the match making instead of the GG master server, so the games can't even see each other. This also means that there aren't any dedicated servers, you will have to host your own games. Fortunately there is now a lobby for setting up games where you can change the game types and maps and other settings while still hosting the server.
Oh just one thing, we cant MOD on the Xbox (nor script) right...?
Correct.

NOOOOO It's only one player no split sreen!!! This is one BIG mistake. I may not buy the game just because there is no split screen Plz tell me there will be updates to fix that! The good side is it is only $9.99!!! Will upload screen shots soon of the demo!

Right... I'm sure you won't. You don't care about the main point of Xbox Live Arcade it seems, which is that you can play with people across the world. I'm sure we have all taken this great TGE technology for granted, and I don't give anything for a split-screen mode. TT never had a split-screen mode, and I sure don't want it to. For dRacer, oh yeah, that must have split-screen. But for TT, it's better than perfect in my humble opinion.
Well... I do have friends that live near me so I thought it would have been cool if I could play against them since they don't have a Xbox. I also think TGE is great and best of all cheap! When I had a second comp, it was great playing against my friends. I was just disapointed about that (the rest is great though) and since it is at such a low price a might as well buy it and probebly will have a great time.
I'm curious, will it possibly work with this (free! & legal!) alternative to XBox Live online gaming?!
--> XLink Kai <--
I'm using this to play Halo 2 online, without having to buy a Xbox Live subscription whatsoever. It's perfectly free, legal and it completely rocks! Of course, ThinkTanks for XBox is very cheap (cheers to that, Bravetree!), and that might perhaps justify a Live subscription. But for games like Halo 2, which I had to shell out a whopping $80 for in my country... On top of that, paying for a monthly XBox Live subscription feels kind of over the limit, depleting household strongbox just to play... (Especially when there are so many free computer equivalents.)
So, if this would work, guess what! I'll buy it right away and play play play, ThinkTanks for XBox XLink Kai!!!
What's good also, is that XLink Kai has many IM-like clients with buddy lists, gaming consoles and available games, etc., etc. Also it has functions such as built-in voice chat with your buddies, etc. I tell you what, this stuff is really hot! I didn't believe in it first, but when I tried it out, it was dead easy to just make it work. A no-brainer. Just connect an ethernet cable between your XBox console and the computer and there you go!
So, will there be any good news as of this method working to play ThinkTanks without paying for that darn Micro$oft Live subscription? %)

Once Xbox 360 comes out, Xbox Live will be free for it and the Xbox. If you look on the list of games for XLink Kai that will tell you if it is supported, but I don't think that it is possible for a Xbox live arcade game to be supported. When you do get Xbox Live Arcade (which you have to, to buy the game) it should come with two mounth free subscription to Xbox Live and is only $5. Free subscriptions also come with many hit games too so look around.
Order Xbox Live Arcade . By the way the $5 is only for shiping the disc, other than that it's free and comes with ms. Pacman on it so it's forth it XD.
I hate that lobby thing!!! It makes the game so slow paced!! X(
On Ratchet and Clank 3 they have it to, ruins the game!!
Oh well I guess I will have to get used to it....
Congrats Bravetree!!! Hope it rakes in the moolah for you! The graphics look shweet!

If it came available to computers, we can move the stuff to old TT, can we? :P
Congrats BraveTree! The xbox opens you up to a much larger market, good move.
Come on guys! John has set a commanding 1,200,000 score in the Arcade leaderboard. Think you can top him? =P

ThinkTanks for Xbox Live Arcade is ready for download. W00t!

Q: I have an xbox, how do I get ThinkTanks?
A: You need an Xbox live account and an `Xbox Live Arcade` disk. Put the disk in the machine, fire up live arcade and look in the action section for ThinkTanks. Try the free demo, buy the game.
Q: I have an Xbox and an Xbox Live account, but where do I get the `Xbox Live Arcade` disk?
A: Well you can order one from Microsoft for $5. Or you can head down to your local magazine stand and pick up the official Xbox magazine . There should be a free xarcade disk included in the magazine.
Q: But Lag Man, I don't have an Xbox, but I really want to try ThinkTanks for the Xbox. What should I do?
A: I don't have an XBox either. So you can do what I did: sucker a friend into buying it. It works great, you get to play it, and they get stuck with the bill. (Heh heh...) The only down side is that you end up using someone else's player name...
Q: I just looked at the picture on GG, do you realize you all need a haircuts?
A: Yes.
