Wish I could go. It sounds like this will be a pretty good Expo. What with Apple suing rumor sites and all! :P You just KNOW there are gonna be some cool announcements!

Friday, January 07, 2005 at 6:54:37 AM

Well I am not into all that computer stuff, I wish I could come to Calif. Though to meet you. I live in Wis. For one. 2 I have to work and 3 the wife would kill me if I just up and left. Besides that I have to save my money for the BIG state pool turnament coming up here in March. :[

Friday, January 07, 2005 at 7:01:31 AM

Why are all the really cool computer expos near the coasts? I mean why not have an expo in the middle of winter, in the midwest where it's colder than a witches behind, ice and frozen stuff everywhere, and everyone's freezing their...oh I get it. Nevermind.

Macworld Enjoyment Tip #238

Pay the money for coat check. Then occasionally revisit the coat room to download all of the goodies and documentation you have grabbed. This way you do not have to carry around bags full of stuff the whole day. Makes for a much more enjoyable experience. Well worth the few bucks you pay for coat check.

I am terribly sad to miss Macworld SF.... BUT, how about if us east-coasters plan to get together for the Macworld (Boston? NY?) when it comes around?

I think it would be very interesting and kinda strange to meet some of the people who I know as virtual friends in the community.... C'mon East Coasters!!! When the east coast Macworld finally rolls by, lets get together!!!!!

Friday, January 07, 2005 at 7:13:18 AM

And FINALLY.... Tanky, do you work for Apple?

I was wondering the same thing about Tanky. Why else would he be hanging around the Aple booth all day?

TG, I think that's a good idea, meeting in Boston. Though, I have an aversion to going to the MW Boston show because those rat fink Bostonians stole our MW away from us here in NY!! Grrr!! Use to go every year when it was here in NYC. Oh well.

Maybe I'll overlook my aversion just this once to meet some of you fine folks! :)

Don't have the money for it this year. My kid soaked up the surplus funds, it seems. I KNOW they'll have iSights running over there again. You guys need to get a group-shot on the Cam for us TTers!

I love a good SteveNoteŞ live. I've been lucky enough to see a handful live on both coasts and went to a few of the Boston expos back in the day befre MWNY's.

I was soo on the fence about going this year but I tend to only go during hardware upgrade periods and the timing just wasnt right.

Concerning MacWorld Boston.. Does Apple show at that anymore? I was thinking they bailed out on the Boston thing and now the only real show is in SF.

You guys should buy TT T-shirts and wear them to the show for a full-on geek out.

Too bad there will be no web cast of this years keynote.

Sinper, Apple has pretty much bailed out from the Boston show. Not that it won't still be a great Mac get-together, but I doubt it's exactly the same without a SteveNote and an Apple booth!

The only other show now where they tend to release good stuff is at WWDC.

Friday, January 07, 2005 at 10:38:51 AM

@Tank Girl, yes one of my jobs is working for apple...
@ All, I Guess me and RX are the only ones going to MacWorld?

Friday, January 07, 2005 at 6:57:47 PM

@TG Southern CA , for 1 year...
(Infinite Loop 1)? From Cupertino to Boston?

$40 Bucks expo admission

Saturday, January 08, 2005 at 8:36:12 AM

1 Infinite Loop. It's Apple's address.

Wish I could go. Never been to San Francisco. Sounds like fun.

Saturday, January 08, 2005 at 10:00:33 AM

If you're going to San Francisco. Be sure to wear a flower in your hair. If you're going...

Back in '98 I went to the Quark convention in Denver. Had some fun with a bunch of people from work. Convention was pretty lame unless you're into printing.

Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

Invite a retard to a picnic and you'd better expect to get drool in the potato salad.

Saturday, January 08, 2005 at 10:19:06 AM

You guys should bring a CD with TT on it!

$40 Bucks expo admission??

Good god...

$40 is a common price. You've never been to an E3 gaming, Media, or other expo recently, have you? The $40 is usually earned back pretty quickly with the incredible software deals.

Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 11:49:07 AM

I've been trying to get into the http://www.macworldexpo.com/ site all morning. Still no luck. :(

Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 11:58:51 AM

Well no Tanky/Rx extravaganza as we couldn't find each other amongst the thousand of people jammed in the Apple area. :( Would have been fun!

I did run into Jay Moore who is Marketing Director for GarageGames. They had a G5 with a variety of GG games on it. They had Zap! Going on it (which he says has excellent interactive gameplay). Zap looks alot like Asteroids. Kind of low-tech looking as compared to all the other machines with eye-popping graphics.

I told him I was a TT fanatic and that we love TT and want TT 2.0! He was a nice guy and was eager to hear feedback about the game and the community. He asked me if I had heard from -z-! Anyway he wouldn't commit to any progress on a TT update. He says dRacer is going well. He didn't have a demo of it though. But they did have TT on their machine! So he let me demo Scrum at MacWorld! I joined an online indie Scrum game as Reagent X and started playing while people came by and watched! I think Paisano and some others were in that game It was laggy as hell and I don't think it came across as very exciting to onlookers, but what the hey.

He gave a 30 minute talk about Torque Game Engine and showed how you can build you own games and incorporate your own artwork. Pretty neat. Then he showed TT on the big screen. I wanted to get up and scream "YEAAAHHH" in a deep low voice. The highlight was when he said "and we have one of the top scrummers in the game right here in the audience!" I sure hope my boss wasn't anywhere near there!! Lol.

BTW, the mini Mac looks soooo nice! Beautiful little thing! Very crisp and attractive. And the Tiger preview was very cool. Also I want iLife and iWork!! Picked up a replacement battery for my 1st Generation iPod. Much fun.

WAZZZ UPPPP!!!

Sorry I missed Reagant X, I probably walked right by him and didn't notice it was him, since I don't know how he looks. ;)
On another note Macworld was awsome! Here is a few pics I took while I was on the prowl.

This last one is a picture of me and my brother using tiger in a three way chat conference with some macusers.
We're the ones in the lower middle frame.

@Hanksta- great shots! Looks like it was a ton 'o fun. I can't wait to see that mini in person.

@RX- awesome man! That's great that TT got some airtime! Any exposure is good exposure IMO. Too bad Hanskta didn't hear the word "scrum" from Jay Moore during his speech. That woulda been a sure clue where you were, eh? :)
