I can imagine you getting angry, but I cannot imagine you getting angry enough to leave PTT!
You created the X-Pack. You made TT way better!
Your a good guy. Whats wrong?
PTT wouldent be the same without you.

...I'm all dressed up with no Nap Mods to play in.

What? I don't have enough lights do I? I KNEW I should have added more. Now I just look plain silly. :(

^ I was at school. Why did you decide to leave? :[ :'(

Friday, December 02, 2005 at 9:29:38 PM

Nap... :(

Pardon my rudeness, I cannot abide useless people.

Friday, December 02, 2005 at 9:38:47 PM

I'm not going to leave,

I have just decided to do things a bit differently from now on.

Easier for me,

Friday, December 02, 2005 at 9:45:15 PM

Then... What are you going to do differently? :o Stop doing X-Pack stuff? :[

Friday, December 02, 2005 at 9:55:38 PM

Hey Nap I am glad you are stayin, I just wanna say that the mods you produce show that games like TT can be pushed to the limit and although your maps are always stunning the other technical elements of the mod do not go unappriciated. For instance the terrain around the maps are always really nice, fogs are great colours and especially the fog in swampy XD But my fav is Easy Street how many missions off one terrain file????? Genius idea (please tell me lol :P ) I just hope that people have played all the versions...............

Why do I write this? Not to BN but to say that I and many others appreciate all you do and that I am glad you are staying under your terms.

Nice #1

Daz :P

Napalm I'm reeaaalllyyy confused here :o Why the sudden (and drastic) changes? (the lack of mod packs and that awesome lookin X-mas mod)
I looked over some of your threads and I can't find what made you decide to do that :S

Well...I suppose if you don't want to talk about it, that's fine...we just don't want to Napalm we know and love (to shoot at with many bullets XD ) to leave us forever B)

Friday, December 02, 2005 at 10:13:13 PM

Hmm!
My guess is that he caught the dreaded "map boggle"
Its a milder form of PolitcoScrumiosis
Slightly less irritating but it lasts longer....

Friday, December 02, 2005 at 10:39:40 PM

It comes down to this.

If you've been good to me I'll see you in the modded servers.

That's all I'm playing, if I play.

Each and every time I have made the expansion pack better someone bitches. So they are no longer supported.

I'll use the stuff, and people will have to download it in game to get it.

I have spent an enormous amout of time to find, create, organize, host, and publish these elements in efforts to make the play experience a little bit nicer.

Personally, I love the stuff modders create. Roo, MM, KBC, Neva, Pharm, Wiz/Triv, Dash, (and every other modder) I appreciate what you have done. Probably because I know what goes into modding. I suppose the jerkoffs who don't mod, will ever understand what goes into making a mod, and what if feels like when some dumbass starts ripping on them.

Oh BTW, I don't host severs for games anymore either.

Anything I do from this point on is for me.

Just like the majority.

I am forever grateful

Saturday, December 03, 2005 at 11:52:54 AM

@Nappy
I'm wondering if the idea to make available fully modified versions of the TT application would allow the rest of us to more easily enjoy the efforts of the modding community. It seems many players are intimidated by the process of modifying their TT application. If it was as easy as downloading a single file and re-entering the ignition code to get into the latest mods, I think TT modding would blossom.

I'm guessing GarageGames doesn't want anything to do with such an endeavor due to potential support issues but I think we should give it a go until/unless they request that we stop. I have webspace to host the files and am making myself available to assist in creating the modified Mac TT app if you are interested in participating/supporting the endeavor.

Thanks for making it possible to enjoy Nappy's Wild Ride in Nappyland . I'll consider it well worth the wait in line (dowloading in-game) to continue to ride.

^ I still enjoy Nap's mods, too. He really is amazing. We should really try harder to better appreciate all that he's done for us.
But, BC... Did you read the EULA? You're not supposed to distribute the full version of TT, especially if it's modded (I think).

Saturday, December 03, 2005 at 3:58:02 PM

Ohhh, EULA SHMUELA. If they try to stop us we'll sick Tipper Gore on them to expose them as the life-ruining-evil-addictive software pushers that they are. ;)

You're right Monica, we probably should just limit it to email distribution amongst fellow addicts. B)

Saturday, December 03, 2005 at 4:32:43 PM

^ They don't want us to distribute TT because they want to rake in the $20 for every person who gets it. X/ WHY???? WHY IS IT ALL ABOUT MONEY???

Saturday, December 03, 2005 at 4:35:21 PM

Monica, The player would still have to play the $20 to get a ignition key if they did not already have one. It's not a full version by any means. Without an ignition key it's just a modified demo really.

KBC, I think that's a great idea, and I'd be happy to work on this with you.

We should get a linux nut on board too to create one for that platform as well.

We also just need to be sure people know that tankskins and scrum goals and such will need to be changed if they are currenty using something custom.

Let's do it!

And also thanks for offering your support. Most modders don't do this for themselves, even if they say they do. Otherwise they wouldn't publish it.

Saturday, December 03, 2005 at 4:50:21 PM

MTMO Im going to make that map. :~)

W00t!!! Lemme know if/when you need testers!

It is currently named Haunted Woods. We're still in the trial phase for it, but will hopefully be done in the next couple of days. Not a map for the faint of heart... XD

Last year a Bot Scout troop went in there - and never came back! %)

~µjiI£m (UT/WT)~

It was under the name fj??m (SQUT)

You have been removed!

PLAY BALL!

Sunday, December 04, 2005 at 11:38:51 PM

Sweet looking Mod! I can't wait to see it!

napalm
KBC, I think that's a great idea, and I'd be happy to work on this with you.

You mean the flaming rock? That was just the scrum goal, but flaming objects would be pretty cool! Sounds like a plan. Bet we could do it. The scrumball uses the goal's animation, so why not something new?

BTW, I still have a few problems with the goal animation. A 1 pixel "ring" keeps appearing at the top of the goal. Since I can't seem to get rid of it, I decided to go with the flow and make it a festive holiday xmas fire.

At least the annoying lights make it look intentional.

Monday, December 05, 2005 at 12:40:03 AM

@ KBC

Doh, What am I talking about, you don't need any help. You got it all covered.

I meant that statement for BC in regards to making a TT version already X and Mod packed up. Sorry fot the confusion. Tis the busy part of the week for me.!!

But if there is something you want to collaborate on I'm ready. Always ready. Actually I do have a kind of funky idea.

Uh Oh!

Here he goes again.....

@ ~µjiI£m (UT/WT)~
Honestly I don't recall that name or any incedent or email regarding that name so I have no idea why it's there.

Thanks for brining it up to me.

I will also send an email to the ACA asking them to check and remove you if you exist in their banlist.

I have been on their banlist as long as I can remember; I think I was able to play in DB a couple of times the day I bought the game though....good server!

Haunted Woods Update:
This map ROCKS for TBM and regular BM. That is, if you're not a sniper. If you enjoy close-range dogfighting and navigating by radar, this is the map for you.

Right now, however, it is not a good Scrum map. The inability to see much of anything limits the tactical options severely.

As the Master suggested, there will be a Haunted Woods Light for scrum.
