You Didn't add me Blowing Your Brains out ! I wanna Blow your Brains out !
WOW SWEET! I wana draw like that!
Eagle
Lol! No can do Freedom XD u wouldn't shoot a lovable freesbee no would ya?
@Eagle Warrior= Practice makes perfect! Alls u need is a pensil/pen, paper, and a little bit of imagination ;)
Here's how I draw my sketches:
1) I don't presketch (this mostly not a good idea for artists, but it workd quite well for me :) ) I don't sketch it in pensil first and then trace over the lines with pen, though it's better to do it that way! Prevents some careless errors!!
2) I freehand draw all my sketches, gives it a nice effect, but if u want neat line work, I suggest using a ruler :)
3) I never use reference (much(though I also don't advise this for artists who want to draw things completely accurate)) the only thing I needed reference on was the dragon, and the eagle, this I drew by sight.
4) I don't think much about what I'm going to draw next (I don't recommend this for artists either, it's just my stile XD ) I usually start, and draw as I go
A) perspective = this is a main skill u must learn to keep things at a farelly good perspective, and this includesrealistic sizes (help u destingush depths- what's far from what's close) the smaller a figuer, the farther down it is in the sketch, the bigger the close.
B) Proportion = this can also tie in with perspective. Proportion means to keep objects in actual size (or relatively close)
ex: Legs and arms= I've seen common errors where artists would make hands and legs different lengths, 1 longer, than the other. Likewise with legs, 1 thinner than the other and viseversa..., this are little, but common mistakes
C) Layering = displaying what's in front of what!= many artists make the common error of crossing 2 figures with each other (think about what important objects you want to draw in front before u draw the less important things in the back)
5) After I've added the important things, and the half way important, I go ahead and observe the picture, and think about what further details I can add in to fill in those gaps/ empty spaces EX: The Big Flying Brain (this perspective shows that since it's flying higher, and closer, it's shown bigger, however, this is not always true)
6) Last but not least, Coloring!! (this is the funnest part :) ) pull out u'r color pencils, and start coloring away giving u'r drawing life! ;) B)
I hope this helps B)

Nice picture, Cadc...a little too sloppy for my tastes, but I can see all the effort that went into it, so I'll give you props.
The only thing that really needs work is your penmanship. You need to take an extra minute or so to carefully write everything that has characters on it, otherwise your drawing will appear overly sloppy, and it will look like you didn't put enough time into it. A beautiful drawing can sometimes be ruined by sloppy handwriting. I know this as a fact. :P
Keep it up, man! And while you're at it, make up a better signature for your drawings. :P
BTW...did you draw the dragon in your signature? It's an amazing drawing!
