Good point Pai - it's never been brought up!
In reply I'll say that whenever I say 'my bad' I mean it: my actions and choices were risky, I tried and failed (sometimes in part due to the opposing player), but basically for me it means 'I did a risk assessment, it did not look very good but I went ahead and blew it, so... Sorry team it's my bad'! When I pull a Leeroy, or when I try to scrore in a 1vs2 or 1vs3, then I think I must say 'My Bad' because sometimes I still really have poor judgement.
In my impulsivity I often take big risk (like 50-50% or 40-60%): I can't play overly safe scrum all the time otherwise it kills the joy for me (re wait for the goal to be clear, etc.).
I've been playing this game for 3+ years yet I still blow a play often, and I still feel it's relevant to apologize to my team.
Sometimes 'my bad' just means it: 'my bad'.
Also, what about using team chat. That would make moot this whole discussion and it would cover the "gjt" that the other team doesn't need cluttering up their screen anyway.
Its easier for the person to say mb than sorry straight out
I never use MB cuz nothing is never my fault. The others screwed it up.
And I hate N1. It means number one. NOT nice one. Get it in your dummy skulls.
G1 is preferred if you have to use such comment.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
@Paisano. Good point. And after giving it some thought, I regret that I often disrespect an opposing player by apologizing to my team. Plus, it's kind of a silly phrase and it is way over-used.
MB, I won't do it anymore.
:)

I like to say "whoopsie"
I love my randylion
I prefer to use a blanket apology for joining the game in the first place.
...unless something really strange happens. Like when one of my aimless bullets actually killed the Professor as he was about to score last week. I'm really AM sorry Prof. I promise to aim next time. :)
I always thought it stood for More Boobies.
Thanks for taking a lot of fun out of the game, Pai.
Hmm, good point. Those you use mb a lot, could always team message it instead, and maybe give a gj (or whatever) to the opposing player through the main chat?
Pass the popcorn...
True indeed. From now on, no more mb's from me, unless it's an incredibly stupid action (leroying doesn't count).
And to adress Rx's post on aliases, the question in my mind with aliases is "why?" If you beat someone, why be under alias, then they won't know who beat them. And if you lose under your own name, so what? It takes more of a man to lose under his own name than to cower under an alias. Which is why I will never be under alias. If the server is lagging and someone's making impossible goals, you can be assured my name'll be there.
I haven't seen any one use it even if I did it really one matter its just a word
Id say AH is underused...
@Jedirieb (SA)
I hear ya you laggy so and so. I love the aliases that just have to tell you when they are doing well. "hey look at the score its me Alaiswhimp on the top". Or when there losing they just bitch and leave. That makes me chuckle the most.
I agree with you jacques, that's what I always thought it meant. In fact, every time you say it, I yard up my cheetoh stained "body by budweiser" wife-beater to reveal my firm, but supple man-cans.
But supple man-cans.
Sweet you should give Mrs. 44 a call, she loves those, trust me
;)
^She did love your man-cans and said they were a nice size. She also said, however, that she was wholly disappointed by your size elsewhere. In fact, she thinks NUTS is a very appropriate name for you, given relative proportions. "Looks like he's all nuts and no bolt" was the exact comment, I believe.

That actually made me laugh out-loud. Been tooo long. TY 44!
@44
Then why does she refer to it as her snickers?
Clean the wax out of your ears. She said it made her snicker.
Well she was very LOUD and repeated it many times.....
On the video NUTS, she clearly is asking why you're wearing knickers. Geesh.
Oh I thought mb meant NUTS! Screwed up again. I guess I shoudn't be using mb at all then.

@Three
Yes it seemed like she was a little confused at what was being covered...

I've been playing TT a long time and I've noticed an increase in the use of the term MB (My Bad) in team scrum.
Most of the time it should not even be used at all. Instead, the player who uses the term does it to apologize to his teammates which is understandable and the intentions are good, but it really insults the opposing player who actually made a great (sometime spectacular) play to steal the scrum and score. I've seen it countless times and it's happened to me many times. While the victim should not feel obligated to sat G1 or GJ, I don't think they need to immediately say MB, especially when the opponent made an incredible effort to steal the score! Hey, it happens to everyone at some point and people react differently. Personally, I just remain silent and try to recover from the shock and awe. Others will say GJ/NJ/G1 or whatever. However, more and more players are leaning on the MB crtuch erroneously.
Look, everyone knows when you screw up and pull a leroy...so everyone knows when it's your bad or not.
No need to say it anyway. It's just poor sportsmanship to use the term when your opponent stole the score from you thanks to a great play. Don't take anything away from their efforts with a lame excuse like MB (similar to using the lag excuse).
