Dunno about question two, but I might know the answer for question one. When you start dedicated server does it says any "errors" from the emitters on the console, because it might effect to it. I also remember myself having this kind of problem with emitters, too. My emitters only worked on the first round and only for me. In the next round they turned to fuzzy and everyone saw them then.
You don't have to let go of one rope before grabbing the other. But you'll have to let go of one if you want to swing forward.
I would email Dash or Rooster on both questions ! Rooster would get back to you faster then Dash ! Dash is very busy ! If you don't hear from Rooster in a day or 2 email me and I will help get a hold of him ! He is in my army and are close friends, beside we work on a lot of maps together ! B)
Ok Rev, Repent had a problem like that (Q1)
Just squeeze the emitter codes into special.cs and it should work
For Q2, if you're using a mac, IT IS the open for append bug, it doesnt seem to work correctly on macs, to try to do what dash told you, edit the dedicated server shortcut so it includes -nohomedir at the end like all the other commands , and then try again...
I hope this helps, but ppl in mac dont seem to be able to write to files in game...

Hey,
Thanks for the help/advice guys.
@Art
Do you mean place the emitter codes in my.mis file into my special.cs? I'm a little confused by what you mean.
I tried adding -nohomedir before I added -log 1 and after it but it still didn't work.
Do you need me to post a console log of when I tried it to see if I'm doing something wrong?
Thanks again for the help all.

I have heard that "many" uses nowdays emitters inside the special.cs and they are working fine for them. Or you can place them into.mis file as I do and they are also working fine. So you can choose which way you prefer.

Just put the emmiter codes into the special.cs.
The /ban thing not writing seems to be a Mac problem that I WAS NEVER able to fix for some scripts...
/ban always worked for me... Of course, I changed a bunch of stuff...

Hi,
I have two quick questions:
1. When I'm running a dedicated server my custom emitters only work the first round you join, after that they're gone unless you rejoin. Is there anyway to fix this, I've noticed in Repent's mods this doesn't happen so I was wondering what to do.
2. When I ban someone from my server it just kicks them so I've been grabbing their IP and manually adding it into the ban list in game/server/dash/banlist. Dash mentioned something about having to run a dedicated server with a "-nohomedir" option. What is this and how do I do this?
Thanks for your time.
