In moments of weakness, I use gore/obama as my sig. Okay, that was like twice, but it has happened before. I think that ticket = 16 years of blue presidents, and 16 years of positive and constructive ideas.
OK, but who would head the ticket?
Gore as president or vice-president? Is Obama a valid pick for VP only, or can he carry a presidential bid?
AND... Will the dems be able to keep a large portion of the centrist support I see today, or will they offend those leaning more to the right side and have the midterm victory lead to a presidential election that fails due to backlash?
Tread lightly, my blue friends. Two years is not long, and a short term view could cost much in the long run.
^something without condition that I must totally agree with.
Gore and obama = a very progressive white house.
I've been turned off by politics of late so I couldn't give
a very coherent list of pros and cons.
When I vote I usually skim over verious web site to gather
just enough info to make my choice.
I believe I saw those two names together in a tally thread
not to long ago.
Is there talk of these two running together in 2008 I am
not aware of???
Or is just a wish list for 2008?
If they do happen to decide to run together in 08, I predict
it would be a landslide victory for them.
As an outsider looking in, ANY rational thinking and articulate president would be a drastic improvement. Obama would get my vote if I had one. And I think Gore has said he has no desire to run - perhaps Hilary as VP?
A Gore and Obama ticket is just what I personally would like to see happen. Gore heading the ticket.
Personally, I foresee more of a swing away from the Far Right in the coming years. I'm not basing this on "ifs" at all. For instance, if the Democrats do some good in the next two years. I'm basing it on what appears to be our national progression. Feelings change and I'm not so sure it's even possible for the Far Right Conservatives to maintain their philosophy. That said, I feel it will be the Republicans who will become more centrist. If they don't they'll become extinct like the '50s greaser. People are changing and the RIght must face the facts. I was shocked that the anti-gay vote passed by only an 80 to 20 margin in Tennessee. Closer than I predicted. To be honest I think we may have witnessed the last hoorah for the Far Right in this country. This of course being the last presidential election.
I'm not basing the previous paragraph on politics but on what seems to be a change in attitude by a large segment of the United States. Evidenced I believe by our young adults. I'd love to see a breakdown of how those under 25 in this country voted.
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to be on my toes.

I kinda like Jangles idea. Might be fun to toss that around.
Does Obama and Dean pass the smell test? I still kinda like Howard, and love him or hate him he managed to do one hell of a job as the DNC chairman. And boy, he took the heat from both ends of his party and still managed to pull this election together.
If he can heard cats like that he has my vote.

Dean and Obama would be dangerouse, Gore not so much. Being a Republican (read, Republican not far right conservative, those bastards scare me too) those two "make sense" to me. As much as people would like to see a female VP or Pres I would be surprised if Mrs. Bubba was it. I think the Republican donkey bashers will have a field day with her in the media. Personally I still think that if the Republicans can throw together a decent ticket they have a good chance. I do not think the American public wants to see any party with that much control, for a long time. LONG LIVE GRIDLOCK.

The ticket that I'd currently like to see on the Democratic side would be Gore and Obama.
I've been watching and reading about Obama in recent weeks. I really like this guy. I'd have him as the number one guy if he was a bit more experienced.
I'd really like for us to breakdown the pros and cons of any prospective canidate/s on this forum for my own selfish benefit. I honestly know little about any prospective Republican candidate except Giuliani
