I've heard some complainin' about the boring and monotonous mods here at TT. I had a few MODs that weren't very good at all, but today I got TGE working! I've already made one MOD called Bi-Pits. I hope these MODs can go hand in hand with dash's and Naplam's, even though they're probably not as good. I will try to host this MOD along with others I make as often as I can. I attached a few pictures if you guys wanna check it out.....drop by later tonight if you want to see them for yourself.

P.S. Please don't judge too harshly, as this is my first TGE made mod. Oh, and I don't know how to change the big long url into a small "Link" so sorry in advanced. XD

More MODs and some predownloads one the way guys. I know I'm a new modder, and don't have the reputation of some of the other modders, but some have said this map shows potential to be better than dash's. Please give it a chance. Thanks.

If you want to make scrum maps, the 'Smooth' command and the 'Adjust height' command are the most probably used commands in making the terrain.

Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 3:56:36 PM

Neva, It looks very nice to me. I think your well on your way. Nice job!

Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 4:09:20 PM

@ Big - I used those two actions alot when making this terrain. Seems to me the smoothing is the most important to a good terrain.

@ napalm - Thanks a bunch, but I can't seem to convince anyone to try it out. I have a predownload coming ASAP, as I have already sent Rx an email, but before then it looks like it's just my bots and I. XD

Yeah I have problems with that too. Everytime I go into Ouch's mods it either quits of tells me I need a tourqe engine...

Friday, July 15, 2005 at 2:04:38 PM

When will the pre-downloads be up, I'm itching to get in %)... Without the wait ;)

I use multi-billion dollar military satellites to find tupperware hidden in the woods... What do YOU do?

Friday, July 15, 2005 at 2:36:36 PM

@ NEVA DIE

I think that second mod look very cool.

I will however just make one stataement about cool looking mods. They tend not to play very well. Here's the reason I say this.

It all depends on how the game is set up and what type of game your playing. If this map is used for scrum and the floor is set that the fog kills, this map woould show very choppy play. The reason being is that the fog would kill the flag anytime it went into the water or river. Without many speed pads or jumpads there would also be an element of isolation. (not beign able to get back in play quick enough)

It the fog does not kill and this is a battlemode map it would play much better. The flag kill would of course be pointless, and you would be able to cross the water without effecting the tank health.

Just some things to consider.

Again I think it looks great. I haven't played for a few days so I have not had the experience of playing the maps.

Good Job Neva!

Thanks guys. I'm gone for the day so they won't be up until later. I might even be able to get the predownloads out tonight. Drop by later.

Friday, July 15, 2005 at 10:48:56 PM

Okay I'm back, and I emailed Rx with the terrains. I'm hoping they will be up for predownload tonight! There will still be about a two minute load the first time you load these maps because there's a new sky put in. If you're too impatient to wait that...then I don't know what to tell you. :P

@ Nap - I see what you're saying, but because I only have two maps made right now that last one will stay in the rotation. Once a make more I'll toss that out if doesn't play well.

I've noticed that no one has succeeded in getting into my MODs. This is the error it shows in the console when someone tries to join. Any ideas guys?

It says that we dont have the right torque engine, Something about terrains. It pops up with that then it says close and then we go back to the server list...? :o B)

Ya that happened ta me, srry NEVA, but I think it is the terrain...
If ur terrain has anyspecial attributes that not another person has,,,ther might be a problem :'(

Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 4:52:02 AM

I think it might have been my internet connection. It was down, and was flashing on and off all through the day. Was it down when you guys tried to join? I dunno, but that problem is fixed now. The thing is there are no special attributes in my second MOD that my first doesn't have. Oh well. I'm making a better bridge type MOD today, then I might throw my 2nd MOD out.

Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 3:54:03 PM

The second one is very nice. A little big tho.

Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 4:06:02 PM

^ The second one is the same size as the first. ;)

Scy has so kindly volunteered to help me fix my problem as it was not my internet connection. I am dropping the rocky and ice terrain that is applied there, and am replacing with just the normal lush texture. Hopefully this will cut down on the load time. But because my terrain and mission files are going to be changed, I have to re-send Rx the terrains after I fix the problem so the predownloads won't be out until later this week. I apologize. Eveyone should be able to join my servers after the regular lush texture is installed. No more "You don't have the correct version of....". (Cheers and whoops) XD

Cool NEVA...
I have an easeir sollution than having Scy do all that for you...
I can email you my terrains folder..
its flawless and has the Lush, Spooky, & (whatever the last level thingy name is)! ;)

This may not meet with your needs its just a suggestion...

Sunday, July 17, 2005 at 2:16:11 AM

Neva try just putting the terrain file up so we can download it, that should make the the load time shorter and we should be able to get in.

Sunday, July 17, 2005 at 2:40:22 AM

Wouldn't help. I basically have to delete all the objects out of my map, apply a regular lush texture, then put all the objects back in. How do I apply the regular texture anyways???

I'm currently throwing together a webpage for TAIBTUFASA so I have to keep posting here. Should be done by tonight.
