Apparently the new CTF server was hacked pretty bad and the ISP actually blocked it because it was sending out all kinds of malicious attacks. We had to take it off line and it's currently getting formatted and re-built from the ground up. I'm not sure exactly when the ETA for it comming back online is, however the hosts said they would be re-building it tomorrow (monday). I apologize for the down time...

Mmmmm.... Hostess cup cakes. Me like the cup cakes and the word "hosted" give visions of white icing swirl on cake floating above my monitor. Me need to eat before me write on these boards. 8o

No, the types of attacks it was launching was scanning random addresses on the internet looking for computers that are exposed without any security so that it can launch attacks on other computers from those computers. Once a hacker is able to hack through a series of computers all linked together they can use the final computer to try and hack a bank or some other instatution and be relatively untraceable. This is a crude generalization, but that's the gist of what is going on.
