Maybe we should just ask the source.

Stink? XD

It was once said, that the biggest trick the devil could ever pull was convincing people he didn't exist... By doing precisely nothing.
Would he convince his son/ human incarnate that he wasn't the antichrist? That he was doing god's work?

It does make sense that the antichrist is just a title used to identify a person, if not an idea or philosophy that comes in opposition to Christ rather than identifying the Son of Satan. The imagery I've read in the Bible seems to point more to an actual person who ends up leading the world away from God while persecuting the Church, but he's more like an instrument being used by the devil instead of his spawn. There is also a place where we get the impression that the AC is possessed at some point during his rule, which would suggest he's a regular man. Honestly, I haven't read much on this lately, so I'm sure I'm blurring between what the Bible says about him and what I've seen on TV and in movies, but I think its reasonable to think he's a man, wanting to do good, but feels there's no need for God in the equation. The thing is, all that power he attains eventually goes to his head and he ends up setting himself as God, of course, that's when things get really wacky. %)

Just for curiosity's sake, is AC menbtioned anywhere in the bible? (Apparenty... Not!)

Can AC stands for 'AntiCamper'?
So many questions, so little Kripy Creme burgers!

^ Should of read on

The words "Antichrist" and "Antichrists" appear only five times in the Bible - in two of the Apostle John's three letters in the New Testament, 1 John and 2 John

I don't know the answer yet my friend but I will and I will bring back up when I get it, but I submit this thought to you, Does God know He's God?

Or also when Jesus was on the earth did He know He was Jesus?

I Kinda Beleive the ac knows he is and has known since he was at the age of 12 or 13. Which is also known as the age of accountability.

I'm personally... Not an 'anti-christ' but I'm neither a 'pro-christ'... I'm sorry to say, but religion letz me cold.

@ TG - That's all you got? Here I was all ready for a few paragraphs and then....psssssst. Nothin'. :)

@WooT - I think it depends on if the AC is actually the son of Satan, or just a man who becomes his tool. It may be that he doesn't know, but as time goes on and he starts doing what he does, it may creep into his mind, but he'll deny it. There also seems to be a point where a demon or the devil himself takes possession of the man, so at that point he would be a lot worse, but I still doubt he would know he was the AC.

@Rabby...
LOL... Ready to go to battle eh? That's funny Rabby. Sorry to disappoint ya.

The Anti-Christ thing isn't even on my radar. It is so laughable that I can't even comment on it seriously. How would you define someone as the Anti-Christ?

Would the AC be the serial killer that hasn't been caught yet? Or, does he have to be on a larger, more global scale?

If the definition of AntiChrist means that he has to lead his people into world conflict, then George W. Bush is the closest thing to Anti-Christ that I have seen in my life time. And Satan really worked this one out pretty well because Bush is too stupid to know that he is the AC. Hey, anyone else notice that the word Anti Christ and the name George Bush have the same amount of letters? I rest my case.

(How many of you just counted the letters to make sure I was right?... :) )

Anyway, the AC could be loosely defined as anyone who the religious goofballs think is dangerous to their cause.

Seems to me that Hitler would have been a good potential AC but he munched on the business side of a pistol before the church realized the extent of his atrocities. What if the Germans had not lost WWII? Would Hitler have finally been given AC status?.... There have been many many political leaders who have led their people toward ethnic cleansing of millions of innocent victims.... How many people do you have to kill before you get your wings.... Er... I mean horns?

Also seems to me that any of the priest/pedophiles could be candidates for AC-dom.

Do you know that the Boston Catholic church paid out more than 150 million bucks to resolve a wide number of pedophile charges in 2005? Who is closer to making the AC label, the pedophile priests or the archbishops who protect the pedophiles and sets the scene for more debauchery? Hmmm....

I guess the Anti-Christ will be defined by the acceptance of the return of Christ... Right? Isn't Jesus and the AC supposed to duke it out while wearing some post-apocalyptic fisticuffs? If so, I hope Jesus Part 2 (Or maybe "Jesus Revisited" or how about "Jesus, the later years") is buffed up on wicked steroids because he is going to have a hell of a fight on his hands.

(Feel better Rabby?

:)

I don't think AC and JC are supposed to duke it out one-on-one. He's supposed to raise a league of followers, an AC ARMY if you will, and renounce all that is...

Knock-knock!...just a minute...

@TG - Well, actually, I do. XD But sadly, "immortal kombat" wasn't on my list of things to do today, I just expected a little more of a post from you on this topic since I figured you probably had something witty and skewed to say about and I see you didn't fail to deliver.

I sometimes think the title "Antichrist" is a little over used since it really isn't mentioned that much in the B-I-B-L-E, but I think it makes for an easy reference since it brings an easy picture to mind and you get a pretty good idea for what he's all about. In any case, it does seem like there is a single man on the horizon who's going to do a lot of nasty stuff and I have to agree that GW has probably done more to prepare for his coming that Clinton ever did. Which, of course, takes us kinda back to the beginning. GW, a professing Christian, certainly wouldn't want to make the arrival of the AC any easier, but with his actions in Iraq and Iran may be doing that very thing. So NOW we can start talking about "predestination" vs "free will". (aka can 'o worms)

Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 11:00:09 AM

Predestination.... Hmmm cool word.

Predestination relates to our travel plans, the path our errands will take, it even relates to a trip to the toilet in my house.... Being as that is a destination that I will be visiting as soon as I am done with this post. But even simple planned adventures have the chaotic interference of nature at every corner.... I might say that I will be making the short trip to my toilet after this post, but if I get too engrossed in this content I might just use a bottle that rests next to my desk... Nature at work. Chaos theory.

You made a logical assumption, you predetermined that your statement about Predestination would open a can of worms. Good logical assumption based on a history of experience. But there really is no such thing as a predetermined path that we are expected to take in our lives. Free will is the only thing that guides us. I wish I believed that there was a "purpose" for our actions, that it is all part of a Plan.... But as you know, I think that is a painfully convenient cop out to those who should be taking more responsibility for their own actions.

Speaking of taking responsibility for ones own actions... Time for me to follow the predetermined path to the toilet.

Actually the word Anti Christ is mentioned numerous times in the bible.

1John 2:18
1John 2:22
1John 4:3
2John 1:7

And I told you when I come back I would come back with some good info, I thought about putting this in my own words but instead click here and check fer yerselves, its an easy read and takes about 5 minutes if that much.
