Wow. To me, that is a ton of flow, especially for a kid. Is that typical these days? Growing up I would typically get a few presents, and then a card with a dollar for each year old I was (i.e. $11 when I turned 11). I would be interested to hear from other adults as to how much they spend on kids Bdays.

I have no kids, but I assume I will have some down the road - want to make sure I can afford this stuff :P

I have a 7 year old daughter, and we usually spend around $75 or so on gifts, then do some kind of party, trip to a fun place, or movie thing. I think the grand total is usually around $150. I know that will go up as she gets older, but $500 cash!! That'll never happen. (Unless it's for textbooks in college or something...)

My daughter is almost 5 months old and so far I have spent about 5.3 million US dollars on diapers.
So she is getting F-All for her birthday. XD

4: Funny home made b-day cards from my siblings, 0 Dollars but awesome
5: A used copy of Red Faction 2 given from a friend, cost my friend 10 dollars
6: 15 dollars from various relatives used to buy a new pair of Vans, 15 dollars
Total amount for a high schooler's birthday.......................................50 Dollars (with 25 coming from outside my family)

Why I am so happy I finally got my job papers....

Oh wow! $2000 cachings?! I get about $200-250 a year with gifts. I usualy get $100 for my b day and for christmas $100. MY gramps spiols me :P. (Usually I give my money too my bro example gave him $70 so he could by electric guitar another example gave him $80 so he could get some legomindstorms set. But sometimes I spend it for myself! Lol XDThis year iam starting too earn up for a laptop so when iam 18 16 or something ill have a brand new spankin fresh laptop! XD

I know I'm getting at least $25 since that's what they give everyone at work. My dad usually sends $50 so the fam and I can go out to dinner on him. Mom varies between $25 and $50. My mother-in-law may send $25 or give me another hot oil massage. %)

@UFO1, you stuck it right on buddy, I am a busboy at this restraunt called 'The Vallemar Station'... Tips are okay, sometimes I have great nights (girls that are my age come there a lot... Majority of my tips come from there, LOL), and sometimes they suck (old women give my nickels! It ain't the 40s anymore grandma!). But in the long run it's good for me... Teaches me respect (I have to cater to six-year-olds throwing food all over the place) and I am slowly but surely raising mullah for the dream computer I want (all to myself to... My parent's wont drop me a dime). You'd probably think I'd have enough already, but dates cost more than you think(saving money to me is not using it for a couple of days ;) )! I think that if I resist the temptation to spending it, I will have my new computer in a couple of weeks! So, I guess you could say I'm doing okay financially...
